Editorial Reviews

Featuring: Dave Lombardo, Paul Leim, Horacio Hernandez with with a star-studded band featuring Marc Quinones, Michael Brecker, John Patitucci and Hilario Duran, and Grand Funk Railroad's Don Brewer.

Street Beats, Nashville's premier percussion ensemble displays their tremendous creativity, in several pieces, on buckets and drums. Dave Lombardo, known for his incredible double bass work with Slayer, performs a ferocious solo, and also talks about double bass technique, advice for young players, Slayer and more.

Paul Leim (Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Lionel Richie), performs with several great rhythm tracks, and gives a wealth of information and advice about pursuing a career in music.

Don Brewer, founding member of Grand Funk Railroad, is one of rock's most influential drummers. Here, he plays three Grand Funk classics and also provides insights into the fascinating history of the band.

Horacio Hernandez featuring, Marc Qui–ones, with Michael Brecker, John Patitucci and Hilario Duran: "El Negro" is one of the most exciting drummers to come along in recent years. His style is rooted in the rhythms of his native Cuba, though he is comfortable in all styles of music. With a band made up of some of the finest players in the world, Horacio performs a set that opens with a burning drums and percussion duet, and that incorporates elements of jazz and Afro-Cuban music in an incredibly exciting way.
