An owners review of Modern GT Racing,

Ok. Everyone here is aware author Dave Friedman needs no introduction. This book is clearly a must-have for any endurance/sportscar fan. From the early days of the Corvette factory team to Aston Martin Racing to the Ferraris at Le Mans, this book has it all! The color photography is SUPERB (as in all Dave's books) and there's plenty of it. Readers are also treated to historical sections that pop up every now and then that discuss past GT legends such as the Ford GT-40, Shelby Cobra, and Ferrari 250LM to name a few. Seriously, if you're a fan of the American Le Mans Series, Le Mans, or the FIA-GT, then YOU ARE HEREBY REQUIRED TO BUY THIS BOOK. It's impossible to be disappointed! There's a little something for everybody whether you like the Corvette C5-R/C6-R, Ferrari 550GTS Maranello, Aston Martin DBR9, Saleen S7R, Lamborghini Murcielago R/GT, Maserati MC12 GT1, or smaller GT cars, this is the book for you!

A must for any fan of modern GT racing. The book is very well laid out, and the photography is top notch. Addtionally something I really liked about the presentation of the photo's was that they were almost always on one page, I don't like when an author trys to make a photo so large it covers two pages, with a huge seem (book binding) thru the center. It ruins good photo's, This book has none of that. It is mostly great photos with brief explaintions of were and when the race was and what car you are looking at. If you want an indepth analysis of each season this is not it, as stats and statistics are left out. They are not meant for a book like this, its more of a wow book that any car fan can apprecaite. I would have liked to see it Cover from 1999 thru 2006.
The great thing is this book, covers the cars you can still go see race today, the cutting edge of GT racing. I plan on taking mine to petit lemans this year and getting as many autographs as I can :) I highly reccomend this book, and hope alot of race fans who are not familiar with the GT racing pick it up, it will show why you should be watching these fabulous cars. Its about time GT racing gets a book like this, Thanks

Good Pictorial, Light reading sadly..But A Good book..Wish it had more Corvette Coverage. (Mr.Friedman Please Consider doing A Corvette Racing Book-Updated with Arctic White C6.R And Jake Cars..besides the one you did with Guldstrand,There needs to be another one, more affordable)
Good Book.

If you into Sports Car racing, then this book is right up your alley. More pictorial than editorial, but with some good content and info to keep you picking it up and reading it.
This book was a STEAL that I managed to pick up used....and it is in EXCELLENT condition and an`awfully cheap addition to my library.

Don't waste your money on this book. There is little (maybe a total of 10 pages) writing in this whole book, and that writing is horrible. It consists of cliches and stories of glamor the author previously experienced. And yes, the picture quality is nice, but they are of the same few cars and nothing particularly exciting is happening in 90% of them. If you are getting this book for a kid 10 years old or younger, they will like it, if not don't bother buying this.
