Good "Old School" Reference,
By
This review is from: Modern Hypnosis: Theory and Practice (Paperback)
This book reminds me of the old school texts I had to read when I studied Physics in college. You know, the books with the old school type, somewhat funny wording, in that green plain texturized cover (though this does have an illustrated cover). Other qualities include having a formal tone, being a little bit on the denser side, etc. As such, this makes a good reference to keep on your shelf. For someone just starting hypnosis (or God forbid recommending to a client who wants to learn more about the modality) it is not as user friendly as it could be. All in all, 3 stars, a good reference, but not a good starter book. If you can pick it up for 10 bucks or less it might be a good addition to your bookshelf.

Modern Hypnosis: Theory and Practice,
This review is from: Modern Hypnosis: Theory and Practice (Paperback)
* S. J. Van Pelt, former president of the British Society of Medical Hypnotists, has stated that hypnotherapy will eventually make it possible for human beings to live two hundred and fifty years. The secret is gland control, an approach most easily achieved in hypnosis.
* According to another author - Arthur Ellen - 80% of the patients in our huge hospitals do not belong there and could be helped by experts in hypnosis. Hypnosis is quicker, less expensive, and far more effective than psychoanalysis or psychology. * This book will explain the authenticity of these ideas and will also teach you how to apply this fascinating tool of medicine. --- from book's back cover |
