1.0 out of 5 stars Full of misinformation, January 15, 2002

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Modern Identity Changer: How To Create And Use A New Identity For Privacy And Personal Freedom (Paperback)
Allow me to explain that I actually ordered this book from Amazon, and I have never given out a 1 star review. But this book is simply filled with 1) Misinformation (lies, such as his faulty advice on getting a SS number), 2) Old advice everybody already knows (dead infant chasing, totally obsolete), 3) Author's desire to make money when he knows nothing about the subject. For example, the author claims that you cannot apply for a social security number from a mail drop address. WRONG! The SSA will send you a number to a mail drop or a P.O. box. His other key information is related to the dead infant strategy, and it will not work. This method no longer works and will get you nowhere , possibly arrested. Everything else he discusses is lacking in any detail whatsoever to be of any use. Totally worthless book. . .

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointed, January 11, 2003
This review is from: Modern Identity Changer: How To Create And Use A New Identity For Privacy And Personal Freedom (Paperback)
When I got this book, I really had high hopes and within the week I got it, I had read it entirely. I then re-read it because I couldn't believe that there was so little usefull information contained in the pages. Surely I had to be missing something. But alas, I was not, there simply was no substance in the book. The only thing I got out of this book is that I learned a little more about the social security number and how it is made up, but even that takes up very little space, and really isn't worth the price of the book alone. As for walking me through what I can do to change my identity, the author is maddenling vague and not at all detail oriented. Sorry to dis your book Sheldon, I really am, but the bottom line is, your money can be better spent somewhere else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate & Funny Too, March 31, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Modern Identity Changer: How To Create And Use A New Identity For Privacy And Personal Freedom (Paperback)
I found the information in this book to be accurate, original and useful. Though one must be warned there are no simple answers. Following the advice in this book will require a little effort on the part of the reader. In these matters, you just won't have it handed to you on a silver platter, but Charrett will definitely show you how to go out and build yourself from the ground up.

The man is also very funny, which was a pleasant surprise. Even if the reader decides to "stay in the rat race," the book is worth it's price in levity.

A good read.
