Book Description

November 1996
Bobby Fischer used this opening regularly against the French and sometimes against the Sicilian. It is a very solid system that is relatively easy to learn and is a very good choice for tournament or casual play. Chapter Four is actually an article by GM Alexander Chernin entitled "The Evolution of Bobby Fischer's Treatment of the King's Indian Attack". The basis of the article is four of Fischer's games including: 1.Fischer-Feuerstein, 1957 2.Bisguier-Fischer, 1963 3.Fischer-Miagmarsuren, 1967 4.Nickolich-Fischer, 1968 The chapters in this book are: 1.KIA vs. Sicilian 2.KIA vs. The Keres System 3.KIA vs. The Karpov System 4.KIA vs The French (article by Chernin, see above) 5.KIA vs other openings

4.0 out of 5 stars A COMPLETE OPENING FOR WHITE, June 14, 2000
By
Rajesh Rai (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Modern King's Indian Attack (Paperback)
This book is excellent for Club Players with a rating below 2200. The strength of the book is its combinative mixture of grand master games along with high level club matches by the authors. The inclusion of many of the authors games allow for a step by step in depth understanding of certain variations. In addition it is especially useful for those club players who tend to favour attacking through h4 on their ninth or tenth moves. The reason for not giving a five star rating is due to a lack of examples where the attack is conducted through f4 rather than h4.
