I've sat in them all, the discount bargain brand, the Aeron, the padded high back executive desk chair. This chair is my favorite. It's got something that I was desperately seeking: support! The fact that its fabulous looking and fits in a smaller space than most chair is just so icing on the cake. It was easy to put together and the leather is soft and confortable. I did all my homework, and am so pleased with my choice.

I too love the chair and bought it because of its sharp design and attractive price. I've owned it one year, and the leatherette (or whatever it's made of) disconnected from the chrome frame. I use it daily of course, and I'm 175 pounds. So I'm not light but not obese either and a chair should last for years.

I called some repair people to fix it but all declined because it ripped when it disconnected and it's not repairable. So I had to throw it out.

I suppose you get what you pay for ... I just ordered the Herman Miller chair which is $1200 ... that was painful, but it comes with 20 year warranty.

I'm not sure if other chairs will have this issue after 12 months, could just have been mine or maybe they are designed for casual, not full time use. If you plan to use this as your full time desk chair for 40 plus hours per week ... which I did ... be warned that it may have quality issues.

I got 2 of this chair that I purchased from July of Last year (2007), one of the chair broke last September (2007) and the other one got the same problem, broken Piston last January (2008)......the company send me 2 new pistons and an instruction how to replace them.... after hours of hitting the broken piston out of the chair base, it ruined my chairmat and my carpet as well, so I called them again for assistance, their customer support told me that these chairs were designed in such a way that you can't really take them apart for safety reason. So at this point I gave up, instruction to replace the piston is a JOKE ! after less than a year, I lost $400 and I got 2 useless chairs.
I did get a free replacement chair from them, but by the rate how these chairs are breaking, I'll need to buy one every 3 months.
The sad part is I got these 2 chairs to replace two temporary chairs that I got from IKEA, thank God! the IKEA chairs are still working amazingly well.
Oh Ya, regarding the free chair....Today is March 16, 2008, my third Lider Chair is broken too, same problem, the broken piston, way to go Zuo Disaster.
Please try another chair or another company! Be safe !

This a Zuo Lider Chair made by Zuo. I bought the chocolate color and it is peeling in several places. I contaced Zuo and sent them pics, but they said since I've owned it for more than a year, Zuo would not warranty it. I've owned it for 14 months and it started to peel after 7months. Waste of money

If you are looking for Herman Miller Eames Aluminum Group chairs...but aren't crazy enough to spend $1000-$1500 per chair...these chairs provide a very affordable alternative.

Now this should be obvious but I'll point it out anyways... these are KNOCK-OFFS/REPLICAS. Your expectations of these chairs should be the same as what you would expect from a fake $25 Coach purse.

With that said... these chairs look very very good. Everything was packed surprisingly secure and carefully. We purchased 8 of these for our conference room and have gotten numerous compliments on how great they look. The chairs do an excellent job of capturing the major style components of the real Herman Miller Aluminum Group chairs. But be warned... these are not exact replicas, so I wouldn't pass them off as real Herman Miller chairs unless you want to look like a chump.

We have only had these chairs for a couple weeks so I can't really comment on the longevity/reliability of these chair...but judging by how they look and function right now I would have to give them solid marks for quality. We bought these for our conference room, so they aren't subject to the same constant usage a normal office chair would have. While the quality on these are solid, I wouldn't be surprised if they started having problems after a couple years of heavy use. If you are just looking for an everyday chair for your home/office, you may want to look at other options.

Overall I am very satisfied with this chair. It is exactly what I expected to be.

Let me start by saying I NEVER buy anything without testing it out in the store first. But I had been looking for the PERFECT office chairs for my home office renovationn for 9 months with no luck, so after reading the other review I decided to take a risk. Boy am I GLAD I did! I purchased two of the High-Back Zuo Lider Chairs in Espresso. These chairs are GORGEOUS!!! These chairs are synthetic leather, but they are such HIGH QUALITY you can not tell the difference. The chrome is SUPER SHINY! These chairs are so attractive, I find myself just staring at them. When not in use, they double as art! Oh! Let me not forget to mention how COMFORTABLE they are. They are fully adjustable and can also be reclined. You can sit in these chairs for hours. Your back will THANK YOU. On a side note: Since I purchased these chairs, I have seen them on three tv commercials and several television shows including my favorite Entourage! If you are on the fence like I was, let me help you out. It's a no brainer. This is a DEFINITE BUY!!! These seem to be out of stock a LOT, so don't hesitate when they are available. I LOVE these chairs!!!

I am a graduate student and recently purchased this chair because for its sharp looks and for the fact that it was a more affordable option (kind of).
It was easy to put together and I have had no issues with performance or wear so far (6 months). For my desk arrangement, it was easier to leave the arm-rests off, which is a choice you can make as you are putting the chair together and doesn't seem to compromise the overall appearance. (There are therefore 2 open screw holes in each side, but its not particularly noticeable.) The chair seems very sturdy and hefty, I love to sit perched to one side of the chair (especially without the arm-rests), but even after 6 months, it has not warped or bent to that side at all.
However, as another review mentioned, this might not be a great chair for more petite users as its not very adjustable. I am a 5'4, medium sized woman and i had to rest a pillow behind my back to make the chair comfortable. And then, the pillow started to SMELL WEIRD and I realized that it was absorbing and trapping a weird odor (like body odor) from the leather, which is only faintly discernible when its not getting trapped on another fabric. Boo! So, I liberally applied Febreeze twice to the leather, and washed the pillow, but the odor problems coming from the leather persisted. At this point it seems like the leather doesn't smell discernibly unless there is a cloth item stored against it. So, it would be fine as long as you are not planning to go with a pillow backrest or drape a blanket over the chair permanently.
I am still happy with my purchase though, since so many of the other office chairs available are so hopelessly ugly and nearly as much of an investment.

I have had this for less than 2 months and it already has wear and I think within 6 months I will have to replace it. I use it 12 hrs a day usually so it does get used. Comfort is good at first but not unbelieveable. For this price it should be really nice. The arms constantly come loose and I have to tighten them every other week. I do like the bar on the back though. It is nice to hold my blanket in so when I get chilly it is convienent.

Though I love the look and feel of this chair, when mine arrived I didn't notice it at first, but the seat was actually not even. Literally, the seat of the chair dips ever so slightly to the left. When I realized that I was having lots of physical problems after sitting all day, I actually took out a level and realized this was the case. The delivery of the chair also took more than two weeks longer than what was promised. All in all, I am not impressed.

got this chair for my 13 year old daughter. She loves it and it works just great for her. The kid chairs were all too small (and she is not big for a 13 year old) and some of the adult chairs were just way to pricey for a teen's room. Easy to put together and she tells me it is really comfortable.
