A beautiful book with wonderful photos of stunning interiors. The rooms combine interesting objects and art in luxurious settings.
I feel inspired by the originality and mix of periods and styles. Loaded with content .Mishaam shares his take on design. I will be Using his ideas...wish his store Homer was still on Madison.

A Perfect Look For Now and Years To Come,

I originally bought this book for my daughter and after I looked it over at Barnes & Nobel l felt it would be great for me as well. That's why I purchased 2 books. I have been decorating for years, lived up and down the eastern seaboard and moving here to University Village (classy place) was my 24th move. I was alone for the last 2 moves but, all the others were with husband and 5 kids. I feel it's important to keep up without tossing things away and intergrating styles is easy if one keeps up with trends and can actually see the results in books. I'm a photo-realist and am doing hyper-realism now. I notice some photos of oils in the book. Especially the large pot with the flowers. I wish I could send you a vidio however the between kids cells, home numbers, area codes, work numbers etc. I'm buffaloed. I actually don't know my own cell number because anyone who needs it already has it!

I was really fooled by the cover of the book and the title. The pictures are anything BUT modern luxury, maybe ecclectic at best. I even wonder if the author knew what the style 'modern luxury' was by looking at these pictures. Not my money's worth.

If you have no idea of your own taste and/or have very little creativity, perhaps you may like this book. I found it very dated and not at all impressive. Most of the photo's are from the author's own home which makes me think he really hasn't done much work. Much of the rooms are centered around art pieces, which is a lovely choice, however much of the artwork is cheap looking prints, and so just not impressive results. Some of the decor are items from say pottery barn or equivalent. I would guess this person "Richard Mishaan" is a wealthy guy who has bought his way into the industry and calls himself a "designer". I would not call him that myself. Some of the rooms are actually not just "not my taste", but "untasteful to down right hideous". Sorry-not a good buy. I also purchased "HUE" on designer Kelly Wearstler, gorgeous, lovely, and truly cutting edge; creative, artistic designer, I highly reccomend this one.
