This is a great new magazine for everyone interested in design. Even if your favorite design era is entirely different--classical French or traditional Japanese--you will be smitten by the beautiful photos and illuminating text. I received it as a gift, and I learn something new from each edition. I subscribe to several other design magazines, and find that I leaf through them quickly, as I find nothing new. With MODERN, I savor it all.

I first found this magazine in London at the PAD Show this Fall when I was visiting a friend who runs a gallery. It's been great to read about 20th century material which is so well-covered by MODERN's Editor. I am an enthusiast of this type of material and have been for years (and bought it when it was simply vintage!), but it's great to see this historical design recognized with a dedicated publication. I have subscribed since that Issue (I can't help but support interesting indie publications) and just recieved the Spring Issue which is the most beautiful yet! It's obvious the Magazine is continuing to get better and better in terms of design and the range of editorial content and even if you don't know much about the subject, the magazine isn't intimidating and you'll be surprised how much you know after flipping through the pages!

Modern Magazine celebrates the inventive idiosyncratic organic designer. This is important in a society that promotes conformity and mass consumption. If you want to know design, read Modern Magazine.

This is my favorite new magazine. Each issue gets better and better. Starting with the covers, which are spectacular and inviting, especially the spring issue, the content is amazing. Written with charm and authenticity, the articles are erudite but not condescending...not an easy feat. Even the ads are more beautiful than in other magazines.
I will treat these magazines as collector's items and hope that MODERN will be around for many years to come.

This is a great magazine. I received a subscription as a gift and love it. First of all the covers are gorgeous! Which of course makes me want to read the magazine immediately. The articles are fantastic too. Very well written with lots of interesting information. As a lover of design I would highly recommend this magazine as a source for intellectual and fresh information.

I have now had the pleasure of reading each issue of Modern and continue to be impressed by the artistry of the objects that are featured as well as the design and production of the magazine. It covers the material with visually striking design while also providing sophisticated insights and information. Covering areas from architecture to pottery, this magazine is itself truly collectible at a time when there are few magazines of such high quality.

i look forward to every issue. it's an interesting, fresh take on design. the writing is clever, not stuffy.
i had a hard time finding it...but my subscription solved that!
