This review is from: Modern Masters Volume 16: Mike Allred (Modern Masters (TwoMorrows Publishing)) (Paperback)
A must-have for every fan of the ALLREDS, this book is a revealing journey through their career as told by Mike ALLRED himself. All major influences and like-minded contemporaries are cited, acknowledged and praised so that you can check them out for yourself. Before I read that book I suspected that the late Yves CHALAND (and the whole "ligne claire" movement from the 1980s : Ted BENOIT, Serge CLERC et al.) was an influence and was very pleased to find that my intuition was right. This book is also useful to take good note of what Mike ALLRED has produced that you missed... and probably will still miss when you'll find out they are out of print! One star off for the lack of color and, most of all, of a bibliography at the end of the book.
