I do research in the food industry as a hobby. At the time I ordered this book, I was researching CAFO's (confined animal feeder operation)...I was worse than disgusted at what I found. This book is dated, but still full of information of how it all got started, which led to where we are today with our very broken food system. You cannot rely on any of the "alphabet" government organizations...you must do the research if you want to be healthy and protect yourself.

Our food system is so wrong in so many ways and getting worse instead of better in every area, this book just encompasses how it began...the over dosing of drugs, chemicals in the feed and the deplorable conditions these animals used for food abide in...it is sad AND sickening. Modern Meat is a good place to start, then perhaps move on to Slaughterhouse, by Gail Eisnitz...we all need to wake up and revolt..or we can sit idly by and continue to be poisoned by what we put into our faces...the choice is ours.
