I was studying the Impressionists and looking at individual artists, to buy a book on the 100 painters that are in this one volume would have cost thousands. It presents enough copy to understand and feel for the artist but the prints are of course worth a thousand words. An excellent table book for its wonderful prints but better still as a study guide. It begins before Impressionism then takes you after up to Avent-Garde. I look forward to sharing it's knowledge with others over the years of service it will provide.
