More About the Author

After receiving my Ph.D. from the Pennsylvania State University (1999), I began a career as a professor at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I've been ever since. Until recently, my primary research specialization has been American civil rights rhetoric. But I have begun writing about American religious oratory during the colonial era. I hope to finish a short book about Jonathan Edwards's famous "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" sermon in the next couple of years.
