This is a great book for identifying dolls. Features a large variety of rare versions of modern dolls (i.e. Chatty Cathy) as well as a price guide for what you might expect to get one of these rare finds for. Tons of pictures and full explainations.

I purchased the Modern Doll Rarities book when I observed that my Baby Boomer doll collection contained many of the dolls identified and pictured in this book. Since these dolls are rare, I figured that they should be valued for their uncommonness, but what I discovered when I tried to sell them, is that they could not command a price commensurate with their rareness, because they were not widely known among collectors. All in all, the book contains interesting photos and intriguing info about these rare dolls.

This was an interesting book. I enjoyed looking through it and the pictures were very nice. Learned a few things and you can never know it all, so this book was very informative. As for prices, they may be a bit over the top, but remember that CONDITION and HOW COMPLETE your doll is, determines the price a collector will pay for it.
