This review is from: Modern Sporting Guns (Hardcover)
Interesting and well illustrated book from the head of Christie's gun department in London. Not for beginners, but a good reference for the genuine aficionado. Lots of examples and insights useful for evaluating the purchase of an English sporting gun. Quite technical too. This book is not written in a very didactic way, and a lot of things you'll have to figure out for yourself, or use other references, unless you are already almost an expert. The phrase "for obvious reasons" is repeated many times, without the reasons necessarily being so obvious for the average reader. But if you are a fan of the Best English Gun you'll want to have this in your coffee table.
