it has a creed like sond that is amazing to the ear. a wonderful demonstration of originalaty. and very unique aquistics.

My husband and I discovered this band in an obscure bar in Arlington, VA and now we're completely hooked. They sound phenominal - the lead singer's voice is so unique. Now, we've moved out the DC area and up to NYC and we're soooo bummed that they mostly play in the DC area. We're hoping they get bigger so they can expand their gigs up to our area. For all those non-believers.... you must buy this album. You won't regret it.

I love this album, although half of the songs is from their last album, they sound so much better though on this album. I discovered these guys from a friend of mine who showed me that local bands like emmet swimming and modern yesterday are far more superior than any famous, pompous, greedy mtv band out right now.

Honestly, I can barely listen to the radio anymore. Everything is starting to sound alike.That's what I like about Modern. It never gets old. I have all the albums they've made, and I'll buy whatever they put out next. Listen to the sound clips, then visit their website, find a show in your area,(or anywhere within hitchiking distance),and see em' live.

The Modern Yesterday disc runs the gamut of musical genres, it's not the same old cookie cutter "alt -rock" format. Each song has an individual character- I guarentee you will like each song on this disc, but in a different way. Some songs are upbeat, guitar heavy, others showcase the lead singers' crystal clear vocals, one thing that stands out is the variety of musical influences. Modern Yesterday will become a household name....You need to listen to the samples, and buy- I know you will like it. It's unfair to compare them to today's popular groups, they have their own niche. You ask 13 people what their favorite song is on the disc, and you'll likely get 13 different responses. BUY THIS DISC.

Each layer of music is incredible, right down to the subtlety of the organ. Powerful voice and lyrics, accompanied by the best drums in the business. Guitar work that makes you cry. This CD is amazing for providing energy while provoking thought. One of my top 10 of all time.
