I have to tell you, this book is FABULOUs!! I love reading it to my daughter, and she loves to sit quitely and listen, or help me tell the story. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the characters Moe and Arlene are completely likeable. Their tale is a real inspiration to everyone who needs a little pick-me-up. I only wish that there were more adventures of Moe and Arlene to read aloud and enjoy. Please make more!!

5.0 out of 5 stars An endearing book about imagination and friendship., July 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Moe the dog in tropical paradise (Paperback)
Moe the Dog is a wonderful character who makes the most of a bad situation. Sick of winter and the cold, Moe dreams of vacationing in Tahiti but lacks the funds so he takes matters into his own paws! He turns his living room into a Tropical Paradise and invites his friend over to enjoy it with him. They wear sunglasses, drink fruity drinks and lounge on beach chairs. The illustrations truly bring the characters to life and will make you laugh out loud.

It is a wonderful way to show children that problems can often be solved with a little imagination and creativity.

The story leaves Moe planning a trip to Egypt. I can't wait for the next book!

Moe the Dog in Tropical Paradise is a wonderful book. I liked it because Moe uses his imagination to find something to do over the weekend. He pretends to be in a tropical paradise. If you can't go there in real life you can be like Moe and pretend. He shares his great ideas with his friend. I like to share my ideas with friends too.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love this book!, October 9, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Moe the dog in tropical paradise (Paperback)
I am a teacher and got this book from a book order, knowing nothing about it. What I found was a wonderful story that has homor for both kids and grownups and a nice message about how you can be happy anywhere you are as long as you are with people you love. It is also about creativity and thinking outside the box to solve problems.

Moe and his friend, Arlene, are sick of their jobs and the cold weather when vacation time comes around. They cannot afford a trip to the wonderful places that they dream about and all of their plans to cheer themselves up only make matters worse. They go to their homes to mope but Moe gets an idea. He gets paper and paint and a wading pool and sand and makes a tropical island in his house. Then he invites Arlene over and they spend the week pretending and having a great time. Next year they will go to Egypt because they already have the sand.

Read this book with your kids and enjoy it as much as they do.!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great seasonal book., November 22, 2011
This review is from: Moe the Dog/Tropical (Hardcover)
This is a great book for reading about the season, yet avoiding religious overtones. Nevertheless, it still holds the values of the season in the story.

Moe and Arlene can't afford to go to the tropics on a winter vacation. Their solution is wonderful for those wishing to avoid the commercialism of the holidays and support the values of friendship and making do with what you've got while keeping a positive attitude.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great illustrations!, December 16, 2004
By
This review is from: Moe the dog in tropical paradise (Paperback)
Because my daughter is only 1, the illustrations are paramount in chosing a bedtime story for her. A great story for the little ones to look at, and as they grow older, a nice story as well.

By A Customer
This review is from: Moe the dog in tropical paradise (Paperback)
The adventures of Moe and Arlene at the Frozen Cow factory, the movie theatre and their own homes have entertained my segven year old for three years running. Thanks to Arlene, the term "fetching" has been entered into our family's fashion lexicon! A wonderful story about a male and female who are very close, very dear friends who can spend the weekend together simply as dear friends. Bravo Moe! A true gentleman!
