This is a fantastic book. Moebius at his best of weaving Esoteric tales of Adventure. If you buy this one though, you'll probably want to be sure and buy THe Man From Ciguri as well- Just so you are not left hanging (quite as much). :>

This is a great book - before you pay these highway robbery prices; be aware all of Moebius ' catalogue is to be reissued; it's available in French and will be in english in a bout 6 months.

ARE YOU READY? This is an epic challenge and a masterpiece which shines even now, after all these years.
I WAS a more fanatic comic reader in my early days. In my mid-thirties though, this is a comic that still appeals to me. Beautiful kind of 70's artwork. But it might be too far off for "ordinary" cartoon fans. If I might say; This is th Stanley Kubrick of comics and beyond.
For Moebius (A.K.A Jean Giraud) this is his major work in my opinion. However, it is not mainstream, and I belive it requires a dedication, an openness from the reader.

Don't expect your average sci-fi story: this graphic novel is more like a surreal dream,where abrupt changes of scenarios and strange twists of the story are like those you may experience in a dream. All revolves around a "major2 who controls an eerie world with strange cities and even stranger creatures. The magnificent graphic art of Moebius makes this graphic novel a feast for eyes as well for the mind!

The Airtight Garage is my very favorite Moebius. I first read it anthologized in the American version of the magazine Heavy Metal decades ago, and I am overjoyed that it has been published as an anthology volume now. I'm purchasing it both for myself and for a college library collection

BTW, it holds up well when you are in your 60's too!
