Product Description

The perfect solution for ethanol blended fuels. Ethanol mixes more easily with water than with gasoline, increasing fuel tank condensation, fuel separation, and octane imbalance. Moeller's Clear Site™ Filters help the process of water removal for better fuel system maintenance. Reusable water collecting bowl extends the life of the filter by draining collected water. Easy turn thumb screw provides a positive grip while draining bowl. For 2 and 4-cycle outboard engines only. High performance 3/8' NPR ports. Not for use with diesel fuel. System includes filter head, hose barbs, fuel filter, and water collecting bowl.

Great product, but this filter is for outboards. With the composite head there
isn't a threat of corrosion, sturdy and well built.

What can I say, I think $50 is a little high but the quality is very good. Would buy another without hesitation..

I would recommend this product. I like the composite design of the filter head, and the ability to see water and particles in the filter via the clear site bowl. This unit is much better than the Yamaha one that came with my boat.

My only complaint is that the drain plug head inside the clear site bowl broke on the first use. It left little black particles at the bottom of my clear site bowl and because of the breakage, the entire filter drained out onto the deck of my boat. I didn't have time to find a replacement, so I purchased a fuel tank repair putty and used it to plug up the drain hole. I won't be able to use the drain anymore, but at least I was able to go fishing.

I'm trying to track down Moeller's customer service department (if they have one), and see if they will cover me under some type of warranty. The cost to replace the clear bowl is almost as much as I paid for the entire unit.
