5.0 out of 5 stars Moeller Clear Site Water Fuel Spearator, August 16, 2010

Great product, but this filter is for outboards. With the composite head there

isn't a threat of corrosion, sturdy and well built.

What can I say, I think $50 is a little high but the quality is very good. Would buy another without hesitation..

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but mine had a costly quality issue., February 14, 2011

I would recommend this product. I like the composite design of the filter head, and the ability to see water and particles in the filter via the clear site bowl. This unit is much better than the Yamaha one that came with my boat.

My only complaint is that the drain plug head inside the clear site bowl broke on the first use. It left little black particles at the bottom of my clear site bowl and because of the breakage, the entire filter drained out onto the deck of my boat. I didn't have time to find a replacement, so I purchased a fuel tank repair putty and used it to plug up the drain hole. I won't be able to use the drain anymore, but at least I was able to go fishing.

I'm trying to track down Moeller's customer service department (if they have one), and see if they will cover me under some type of warranty. The cost to replace the clear bowl is almost as much as I paid for the entire unit.

I searched all over and found just the right outboard fuel water seperator complete with the water sight glass and drain on the bottom of the filter and comosite too. Great for saltwater applications, for just a little more than a std type without those features. ps; these are a must with this ethanol fuel we have to use. The price was great-Shipping was fast. all around 5 star seller.
