It works fine, except, that sometimes you have to close it twice, because it does not go down all the way to shut off, but stops just short of going all the way down, and then you have to go up a ways and back down and it shuts off on the second try. This is obviously an enginering defect.

We use these on apartment remodels. The owners do not like faucets that may require a lot of maintenance like a sprayer. So this was the option we chose for them. They love them so far.

This faucet has been redesigned since it was first introduced. The cartridge is now a ceramic disc cartridge which eliminated the handle adapter that often times broke if someone turned it off hard. The handle now connects directly to the stem on the cartridge, which is much better. Moen did good on that new feature. This is now standard on all single-handle Moen kitchen and bathroom sink faucets.

The supply lines are no longer copper with 1/2" connections for supply tubes. The supply tubes come with it already attached and will connect directly to your standard 3/8" stop. The supplies have always been long enough so far, and it hasn't mattered whether the stops came out of the wall or the floor.

The mounting nut has also changed quite a lot. It used to use the standard Moen mounting system where is had a small nut that tightened against a big cup like piece of steel and you had to use the wrench that Moen provided to tighten it. The new system uses a big brass nut with 3 small stainless steel screws and a big metal washer. You tighten the nut by hand then crank the screws down to secure it to the sink or countertop. I mount these on thick granite tops a lot and it's never been an issue getting them to mount.

Highly recommended!

I have installed / rebuilt many faucets over the years. When the handle broke on a 10yr old American Standard my wife replaced it with this.

I gave this one star because this is the epitome of a poorly engineered 'name brand high dollar' product.
To me true quality withstands the test of time and have a substantial service life.

At first glance the quality seemed pretty nice, substantial heft from a lot of brass, heavy chrome plating, smooth action.

Then came the install...different than anything I've seen. A single (steel) 9/16-ish nut presses against a steel 'cup', 'securing' the faucet assembly to the sink. I emphasize steel because most grade schoolers know steel rusts around water and in time this will be a nightmare to whoever has to remove it! (I coated everything with Vasoline to slow oxidation). To make install harder, this nut is nested between the hot/cold water connections. Moen provides a plastic 'tool' to reach and tighten it. When I tightened the nut to the tool broke. I struggled w/a basin wrench to tighten such that the asy wouldn't turn.

I had removed a a Moen several months later for my sister-in-law and sure enough the 'steel nut' approach was a NIGHTMARE!!! I ended up chopping / hacking until I got it free (thank goodness it not a cast iron sink!)

1yr later the faucet started to drip. I could not remove the stem so I had to buy a $13 'Moen Stem Removal' tool. Instead of being able to buy a rebuild kit I had to buy the whole $14 stem! (In all fairness this is an OK price for a OE stem but it is mostly plastic)

This is 1/3 the price of the faucet!

In my ignorance I removed the spout to see how to remove stem. The O-rings in the faucet mysteriously stretched and not longer seal - I hope I can buy them!!! (these were not removed from their grooves so I couldn't have stretched them)

Needless to say - We've sworn to STAY AWAY FROM MOEN!!"

Caution. If you are buying this product because you need 1/2" IPS connections as Moen specifies it has you will be disappointed. In our case we could not use it at all. Moen is no help. They changed the design and did not change the specification. They are a bit arrogant about things like this. I've had similar problems with them in the past. They do not feel they need to meet their own spec, the spec you are using to make purchasing decisions. Arrogant? Worse, they will smother you in apologies but they will not fix the problem. Otherwise, it's probably a good faucet. I'll never really know.

Faucet looks and works fine, easy to install but only one problem so far. The only problem, when you shut the water, several drops are coming down from the top of faucet on the sink top. I am planning to talk to Moen about this.
