These were easy to install but I couldn't get them not to be wobbly - maybe it was my toilet seat because you install them in the same holes and with the same bolts as the toilet seat. They worked fine if you put your weight evenly on each side but once my husband leaned more on one side and they flew off and dumped him. I think a better option (after trying several) is a commode which you can place right over the toilet. It's very sturdy and you don't even have to install it plus you can use it separately near the bed at night if needed. Also it fits even if the space between your toilet and the wall is very narrow, as these bars would not. I got mine on Amazon and it didn't cost much more than these rails but is much safer.

This was extremely easy to install. It does wobble a bit, but if you are lightweight (in my experience, less than 110 lbs.) and still have some strength in both arms, the slight wobble does not affect it's performance. I really like the design, because my legs don't get tangled up or trip over rails extending to the floor.

And Yes, it is not rustproof as it states. We had two of these a little over a year. It says "rustproof" in the advertising. Luckily, we had bought two units from a catalog (at a much, much higher price), so I called that catalog company and pointed out that although it was advertised as rustproof, over time, water or liquid caused both units to rust/corrode, especiallywhere the front bar (in the foreground) was sandwiched between the toilet seat front rim and the toilet seat we use. They said, no problem, we will send you two new ones for free! They also asked what I was cleaning the toilet seat and rim with. I said window cleaner. They said not to clean it with anything but soap and water.

But old habits die hard. I never clean with just soap and water. So after they sent us two new ones, I asked my husband to go to the hardware store and get clear, heavy tubing that we could use for the front rail (foremost in the picture). And he did. We cut it to length, put a slit all the way down it, and put it over the front rail of each. That was two years ago. Not a bit of rust has developed! I still clear the toilet seat lip and the tubing with window cleaner or sometimes isopropyl alcohol. And again, no rust. Problem solved. Plus, it doesn't wobble as much because of the tubing.
I really think the design of this is ingenious. The front bar just needs really strong protection against rust or corrosion. Which we added with the tubing. We are very pleased.

This is a great product and design, however, does not fit on a raised comfort toliet. It is about 2 inches short of fitting under the seat, cutting off the length of the toilet. The picture on the box shows a raised toilet so i thought it would work. Design is great, and the price is amazing, too bad it did not work for me.

Yippee for allowing my 92 year Grandmother more freedom!!!! Excellent! She is short and does not need a potty booster chair. Those silly things made her look like "Edith-Ann" in her rocking chair. With this, she can keep her feet on the ground and have a stable aide to help her rise. There are also no legs to get in the way of her walker. The only improvement I could see is using the rubber grips like the ones on walkers that would come down just past the curve of the handles in the front.

Having tried several styles, this worked the best. It was also easy to install.
One like this had legs to the floor. The arms were too high & too close.
One freestanding one worked well if I could keep from tripping over the feet.
I had also ordered drop down ones that anchored to the wall. They weighed a ton & the diameter of the bars was too wide.
It was returned immediately.

I installed the toilet safety rails in about 10 minutes. It works just as it should. It is easily moved into place when needed, and stores folded away when not needed. It is easy to clean around. The device is well engineered and appears to be made of high quality materials.

I saved $59 by buying this product on Amazon.com. It does just what I wanted it to do and that is give my husband a sturdy and safe way to get up and down from the toilet. It was very easy to install, and can be lifted all the way back when not in use. Great product!

The design of the safety rails is fairly safe, but my 86 year old, 113 pound mother feels insecure with it. The problem is, she doesn't use both handles at the same time to sit down. So it tends to tip toward the side she's using. We may have the problem with any other design also.

We've had this for about a year and believe me, it is definitely NOT rust proof. It has permanently stained the underside of the toilet seat and in general, looks gross and dirty, when indeed, it is not. So we're back on the market looking for a better mousetrap. Getting old sure isn't for sissies!
