And Yes, it is not rustproof as it states. We had two of these a little over a year. It says "rustproof" in the advertising. Luckily, we had bought two units from a catalog (at a much, much higher price), so I called that catalog company and pointed out that although it was advertised as rustproof, over time, water or liquid caused both units to rust/corrode, especiallywhere the front bar (in the foreground) was sandwiched between the toilet seat front rim and the toilet seat we use. They said, no problem, we will send you two new ones for free! They also asked what I was cleaning the toilet seat and rim with. I said window cleaner. They said not to clean it with anything but soap and water.
But old habits die hard. I never clean with just soap and water. So after they sent us two new ones, I asked my husband to go to the hardware store and get clear, heavy tubing that we could use for the front rail (foremost in the picture). And he did. We cut it to length, put a slit all the way down it, and put it over the front rail of each. That was two years ago. Not a bit of rust has developed! I still clear the toilet seat lip and the tubing with window cleaner or sometimes isopropyl alcohol. And again, no rust. Problem solved. Plus, it doesn't wobble as much because of the tubing.
I really think the design of this is ingenious. The front bar just needs really strong protection against rust or corrosion. Which we added with the tubing. We are very pleased.
One like this had legs to the floor. The arms were too high & too close.
One freestanding one worked well if I could keep from tripping over the feet.
I had also ordered drop down ones that anchored to the wall. They weighed a ton & the diameter of the bars was too wide.
It was returned immediately.
We've had this for about a year and believe me, it is definitely NOT rust proof. It has permanently stained the underside of the toilet seat and in general, looks gross and dirty, when indeed, it is not. So we're back on the market looking for a better mousetrap. Getting old sure isn't for sissies!

It is very nice, and arrived on time. My husband put it together for me, and I didn't hear any bad words from him.
Therefore it must be easy to put together.
This one gave the stability i needed. Tried 3 other ones that did not work for me. Worked well on the elongated toilet.Published 8 days ago by pat lessig
Was just like a previous one I purchased that cost almost twice as muchPublished 19 days ago by Dean Mills
The Moen Safety rails are wonderful! we had to buy a different toilet, because you have to have a flat area between the tank and the toilet bowl to safely attach the rails. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Jean L.
The rails work great. The only complaint is that the front bar rusts over time and discolors the bottom of the toilet seat. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Kim
Does what it is supposed to do, which is great. Would give it a 5 but with the plastic bolts it needs to be tightened a lot.Published 3 months ago by Diana
Do not buy this if you have an elongated toilet as the front bar doesn't clear the toilet bowl. Also, any curvature to the back of the toilet precludes this being attached. Read morePublished 4 months ago by Cuckoocat
