I became a Moffatts fan just a few weeks ago (yes, yes, I know) and I was intrigued to learn that they had a country album still available. I remember when they were out a couple years back here in the states . . . I wasn't that interested, but I am now! The album is cute and has some nice songs on it. I'm not that much of a country fan, but this album's a MUST for any Moffatts fan! It really takes you back and you can see just how far they've come. :)

I was looking through some music shops while on Holiday in Spain, when I stumbled along Chapter I: A new beginning. Looking at the front cover, I passed it by, but later in the holiday, I had the good fortune to see it on a listening post, so I tried, and inevitably buyed!. Having that CD, I also got the Moffatts debut album, which I also thought was brilliant. Being 20 years old, I feel a little silly listening to the Moffs, but I really do like them. This CD is definitely worth buying.
It really is Quite Surprising.

These brothers, origninally from Canada and now hailing from Nashville make a certain splash with their self-titled CD. From "When God Made You," written for them by Garth Brooks, to their own composition (written for the Special Olympics), "Don't Judge This Book" to thoughts of world peace in "Guns of Love" their harmonies and execution are right on. The music itself is a little simplistic, but that's what makes country unique and broad-reaching. "Mama Never Told Me" speaks to first crushes, as does "I Think She Likes Me" -- one can't help but remember their own similar feelings. Harmonious cover of the Beatles' "This Boy" is also notable. The Moffatts certainly aren't going to supplant Garth Brooks in the hearts and minds of present-day country, but their music, and their attitude, is fresh and clean. This record is a couple of years old, and Scott, Dave, Bob, and Clint have moved more towards a "southern rock" feel in their music, and now also play their own instruments. Well worth purchasing, in my opinion, and this group is also worth watching in the future.

Hi, my name is Bernadette, I have The Moffatts CD from Europe, I bought it about a year ago, I love it, it's the best CD I ever had. It didn't come out here in USA yet, but I'm gonne get it as soon as I can, it has almost the same songs but this one is gonne have three more. The Moffatts is my favorite band ever. April 20th I'm going to their show in NY City, I'm gonne be there 11 hours before the show because I know it's gonne be worth waitng all these hours and see them from the first row. Well, that's all I have to say, those people that are still thinking about buying the CD, don't waste your time, just buy it as soon as it cokmes out.

I have loved the Moffatts forever, and this cd is the reason why. It has great hramonies, and the songs are awesome! Who would have thought that such young people could have such talent. People say that Hanson was the next big "Brother Band" after the likes of the Jackson 5 and The Bee Gees, but they are wrong! The Moffatts are now gaining more fans than ever with their new releases in Germany, but without this CD, no fans collection is complete!

I'm no fan of the moffatts but i'm sure becoming one. I bought their Chapter:1 by mistake and WOW!...that's one and only favorite mistake of my life. I don't care if I'm over twenty but dig the music from these teens, now that I see that these kids are really somthing. Their production is incredibly/surprisingly/amazingly touching and too amusing. By the way, these kids are more into rock than how they appear.
