Leaning/resting, not sitting.

I just got this, so I can't speak to long term use, but at first try it seems great.

Very solid and well made, and cheaper than fancy office chairs.

This thing is pretty awesome. Having stood at work (9+ hr days) for over a year, my feet/back/neck could get pretty tired. I'd find myself slouching or reaching for the not-so-ergonomic drafting stool. I just got this, so I can't speak to long term use, but at first try it seems great. Construction/functionality are solid. Takes the weight off the feet, keeps the back in a solid position, keeps the hips open, engages the abs.... it's awesome.

Be sure to hit their website ([...] for tips on how to use it properly. I played with it for a bit then read through the site again and decided to try on a lower click- much better. I'm 5'2" and use it on the second click. I'm going to use it for a while before deciding, but I'm already thinking about getting a second one for my home workstation. It's portable, but not so small that I'd want to carry it back/forth every day.

Pros-
Pretty portable.
Easy to set-up/use.
Very comfortable.
Takes the weight off the feet and keeps the hips open.

Cons-
Could use a bit of a shock- something to give it a little squish.
The shape of the seat allows a bit of tush to mush through. Comfortable? yes. Flattering? no. If you're planning on using this at work, it's something to consider. Not a big deal in jeans or other thicker pants/skirts, but in anything thin there are some extra bits on display.

While I like having a standing desk at work and at home, there are some periods where I would like to sit. As I've got a standing desk that is only for standing (it's elevated by concrete blocks), my options were limited as my budget was limited. So, I bought the Mogo as a way to give my knees a bit of a rest occasionally, especially at the end of the day.

I've found it's important to have a tiny box or stool to frequently rest one of my legs on, bent, during the day, switching between legs. It helps reduce the amount of stress and tension of standing fully straight for 8-12 hours. However, that's not always enough.

I've been using the Mogo for a few days and while I like the concept, I have some reservations that might be fixable with a slightly more expensive Mogo:

* It creaks. There are plastic parts on the seat that rub against other plastic and the metal of the stand. If you shift your weight much, it's likely to creak. While it's livable, the noises are annoying both to me and to nearby offices. It sounds "cheap." It's not so cheap that I lack confidence in its ability to provide a seat ... it just isn't as solid and well designed as I'd expected.
* The seat is about as hard as it could be. It's ergonomic in general shape, but it's not particularly comfortable for an extended period of time. Here's where I'd like to see an upgrade in particular, to add a bit of cushion to the seat. It wouldn't need to be much to make the seat feel like I was sitting on plastic.
* There are tiny bumps on the seat likely to increase friction. I don't find they help much, and I can feel them through my pants when I sit/lean. I'd like to see them replaced by a grippy cushion instead.
* I've tightened the seat more than once to the base.

This winter I was fortunate enough to be able to borrow a friend's new Mogo while she was out of the country for 5 weeks. My first experience with the device was enticing and I'd wanted to give it a good try.

At first I wasn't sure how to set up the unit for optimal performance, but after consultation with my friend, who is an ergonomics expert, I learned that the ideal angle for good health and comfortable seating is between 120 and 135 degrees, torso to legs. After adjusting for that, the Mogo really took off for me and I knew I'd want to order one -- or two!

First of all, the perch is beautifully designed and crafted, and really is comfortable. But more than that, the quality of subtle movement and balance necessary to remain upright keeps me alert and focused for extended periods of time. And because it's so easily portable -- and adjustable for most any height table (or body!) -- I can imagine taking it with me pretty much everywhere: meetings, social events, hikes, you name it!

It's no surprise that everyone I've shown it to has been intrigued with the Mogo and has wanted to test it out. That includes some children I work with who have attentional difficulties, and I'll be eager to learn whether they too will benefit when using the Mogo on a regular basis.

I'm convinced that Upright seating is the wave of the future, and I've happily joined this Revolution! Thank you Martin Keen!

Certain pants make the seat slippery, and the rubber end does slide if you're not sitting in it just right.

That said, I've been on the lookout for ergonomic chair alternatives, and this is one of the most affordable, clever and portable things out there.

Not fancy.

Probably overpriced.

But rock solid and works perfectly with my stand up desk. I would like to try one of their workstations, but doubt I could get my employer to pay for one.

I'm testing out how I would like a standing desk, before investing in it. My desk is propped up on phone books and blocks of wood, and this was an affordable option to give me a rest from standing. It grips well on carpet and hardwood floors. It's easy to adjust to your height, and I can see benefits of carrying this around to watch some sporting event or outdoor concert. I find myself alternating one foot forward and one foot back instead of both feet forward. It is extremely light, yet strong. My only complaint is what others have mentioned. The seat surface can be slippery. It would definitely benefit from a grippy seat surface. You can reposition yourself to minimize slippage.
