Book Description

April 1, 2003 Nick Hern Books

Mojo Mickybo is a vibrant and fast-paced tale of two boys growing up in Belfast in the early 1970s—one from up the road, the other from over the bridge. Their friendship centers on playing headers, torturing a cantankerous old man, building huts, spitting from cinema balconies and re-enacting Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Also include the two short monologues, The Waiting List and I Won’t Dance, Don’t Ask Me.

Editorial Reviews

Review

'Mojo Mickybo marries the polished ferocity of Howie the Rookie with the chirpy candour of Disco Pigs, and is more successful than either... This play is an energising reminder of the fact that all you need for truly magical theatre is... a writer inspired by the thought of the stories that can be made on the stage' Joyce MacMillan, Scotsman... 'rattling Irish dialect, youthful verve and relentless energy...' Mark Fisher, Herald
