On a magic surfboard, Moki the Gecko flies, journeys underwater and travels through time. In the end, he must choose between magic and friendship.
Nobody believed he could. "Sure, anybody can do fancy tricks on a little board," said Kealii the Dolphin. "But if you try surfing such a monster wave, you'll be gecko sushi in a second." Only his friend, Monk Seal, believed in Moki. "You can do it," she said. "But not on a normal board. You need a magic surfboard."

A surfer's dream.............,
By A Customer
This review is from: Moki and the Magic Surfboard: A Hawaiian Fantasy (Hardcover)
Moki and The Magic Surfboard is a delightful tale of a gecko who wants to surf the biggest wave in the world. With the help of a magical surfboard he gets his wish and then some! His biggest lesson though is not in the power of the magical surfboard, but in the power of being a true friend. This book is filled with colorful illustrations that are bound to make any child's imagination soar. This book is a must for all families with a love of the water and surfing!

This review is from: Moki and the Magic Surfboard: A Hawaiian Fantasy (Hardcover)
Moki and the Magic Surfboard is an interesting tale that has kept my 2 1/2 year old son interested every time we read it. The story isn't so much about surfing as it has a moral lesson about friendship and keeping your promises. If you are looking for a book that is heavily about surfing, this is not it - it's a hawaiian fairytale. The Moki books are a great way to introduce children to Hawaiian culture. The artwork is detailed and is just like the cover. Recommended!

We got this as a gift from my surfing brother and it has been a favourite for both our 4 year old son and 6 year old daughter. The combination of surfing, magic and fantasy has charmed them. They may even surf one day <grin>.
