This is a great book, and gets better with each edition. If you are taking cell biology out of MBOTC, and don't have this book, you're playing with one hand tied behind your back. And if you're just reading MBOTC for fun, get this book, do the problems, and you'll learn more than you would in many University level cell biology courses.

I purchased this book because my cell bio professor said he was going to be using it for in class work. I am a grad student majoring in cell biology and I have enjoyed both the problems book and the text that accompanies it. The layout is organized in a way that it is easy to find what your looking for, and the videos, problems and answer explanations on the CD that comes with both books (the problems book and the text book) are extremely helpful.

I would definately recommend these books to someone interested in cell biology. It is as up to date as it can be with regards to new developments in the field (things are discovered and changed almost everyday in cell biology), but the book provides extensive background information as well as detailed accounts of developments, both new and old, contributions to the field and additional resources.

This book is a wonderful companion for the MBOC book. I am reading these 2 books as self-study material during my postdoc fellowship. The large number of conceptual questions in this book are very helpful in reviewing the knowledge. Of course, this comes with solutions to the problems in MBOC book.

This was a required purchase for my Molecular Cell Biology course, which I am currently enrolled (Undergraduate class). Most of the problems that are in this book are heavily orientated around conceptual ideas rather than specific nitty gritty details. This is great because our professor assigns us the questions that will be on the problems test, but with the chance to have the question worded slightly different to affect the answer (we are not supposed to memorize the answer, rather understand the concepts that are be questioned).

The solutions DVD that comes with the book is really nice and offers an easily searchable layout to find the chapters answers that you are looking for. Everything is explained very nicely and I very rarely find myself having to go back to the book for clarification for the answer's reasoning. This is what makes this book deserve five out of five stars.

I would recommend this book to any one of my colleges, however they probably already have it.

I had to purchase it for a college course. I wish I did not have to buy it, but found it a little helpful but not much. It is just very time consuming. If you don't have time to work on it, and you are not required to buy it, I would say save yourself the extra cash:)

I bought this for my son who is taking a course this semester and needed this book. I ordered the book from Amazon.com because its much cheaper than my son's college bookstore.

When I ordered the book, the website said it didn't even have a release date for it so I got a little worried that I wouldn't get my book in time for school. When they finally sent the shipping date, it was really close to when I was going to leave for school so again I was worried I wouldn't get it in time. But, the book came about a week and a half early and it was in excellent condition.

I received this book very quickly and the book like the seller said it would be is in excellent condition. I would trust this seller again in the future.
