An excellent tool in preparaton for Molecular Pathology Registry Exam.
Globally covers all areas of Molecular Pathology taught in formal university
classrooms courses. Information is simply explained, concepts are easy to
grasp and has illustrations, tables, charts, and diagrams that reaches and
facilitates a better level of understanding. Don't sit for registry exam without
reviewing this text. "Great Stuff".
Respectively,
Frank Escontrias

Perfect for reviewing to sit for registry exam. The initial chapters are great intro for adding molecular to any general scientific knowledge base. I would ask any one giving this book a less than stellar review to find a better one.

I bought this book for a Molecular Diagnostics course for an MT/CLS progam. Although I've had some previous education in DNA, etc. . . I was new to most of the concepts in the book. I found it easy to read and very understandable. My only real complaint is that THERE'S NO GLOSSARY in this book. To me, that's a major oversight.

For a first textbook written for CLS this is very decent but not perfect - looking forward to see the second edition with corrected figures, specifically regarding the position of PCR primers. Interestingly, the instructor's powerpoints have pictures that do not correspond to the same figures in the Text.

Pretty decent book, goes over most concepts of molecular diagnostics, PCR, FISH, RT-PCR, molecular beacons, FRET, etc. Fairly easy to understand. Could do a better job in some places. Used in a Molecular Diagnostics - Human Genetics course in CLS/MT Program.

This text has all the procedures and background pertinent to the field of Molecular Diagnostics. Most laboratory test-prep guides/texts do not include much in the field of genetics/molecular biology, so this is a very nice synopsis and quick reference for most of the major techniques and vocabulary for the certification tests. Not a comprehensive textbook for college classes, but definitely a "go to" supplement with a concise overview of almost all of the current theory. Undoubtedly, the technology will evolve quickly (such that the info will need to be updated sooner than the use of the book will end) but that is true of any text of this kind; technology is moving faster than the ability to publish! Very useful add-on for my college courses.

A good book utilized for the Molecular Diagnostics Certification Exam. I decided not to sit for the exam after going through the book and going on an interview for molecular diagnostics. The theory of molecular diagnostics is somewhat interesting; the work however, is BORING beyond belief.
