Let's me keep track of everything I want to.
J. Clayton
Moleskine makes quality notebooks and this planner is my absolute favorite because it allows you to organize your week on the left and has lined pages on the right.
G.M.
The 18 month was very useful since I bought it mid year.

I have the 2011-2012 planner and I love the monthly calendar in the beginning pages of it. However for some reason moleskine decided to change this nice feature into lines instead of boxes! Being a visual person it's harder for me to envision the months and do planning with this kind of format plus I use the boxes to put those stickers that comes with the planner! Guess I'll just have to physically cut the calendars from my old one and paste it to the new one. they should have eliminated the travels memo, time tables and flight durations pages so I can have my box month calendar :( despite this missing feature overall a great buy!

I love my Moleskine--but not the 2012-2013 18 month planner. They have redesigned the front calendars. Instead of the typical "block" calendars they have in the front of the book, they have created a vertical list of each day in the month. There are no boxes in the calendar, and this makes it very hard for me to plan. I will end up printing out my own traditional block calendars and pasting them in the book.

Buyer beware--if you want the block calendars and get this planner, you'll need to make your own.

I'm so disappointed. Unless they change the format for 2013-2014, I'll be hunting for the "perfect" planner again. :(

I really like the X-large sized notebook planners (though they really aren't THAT big). There is space to write something on each day. I bought this to use for school to keep track of my schedule, assignments, projects, and work schedules. One thing I wish was different: I wish the pages were swapped. If the weekly calendar part was on the right side of the planner and the lined pages were on the left side. That is the reason I only gave it 3 stars.

This review is for the the xL 18 month diary by Moleskin.
First I posted some pictures showing the actual calendar layout of this planner so you can see for yourself what it really looks like inside.
Layout: If you're like me, layout of your planner is vital. I shop for planners typically for a week just because I need it be set-up a very specific way for me to quickly reference and plan. The biggest concern of mine was the month calendars weren't in a grid system, but a list. First there were no pictures (that's why I posted some) and I was REALLY concerned about ordering this without knowing exactly what to expect. I actually am very happy with the list layout. It works a lot better than I anticipated and I may even prefer it. Also I really like having all of the monthly calendars in the front of the planner instead of at the beginning of each month's weekly pages throughout the planner. The layout is 2012 months, then a page overview of 2013/2014 followed by weekly pages of 2013. It also comes with stickers, I included a picture of those. I'm very happy with this, don't let the other reviews bias you from at least trying this planner.
Size: I really like the size of this planner. I thought it would be too big, but having more than enough room for each day and a whole page for notes REALLY works well.
Quality: I'm a big fan of Moleskin and have never had any quality issues. The only thing is I wish the ribbon was maybe half an inch longer, but that's me pretty much commenting on the only thing that could be improved.
Price: This is approximately half the price of comparable planners at Staples or your office supply store. Furthermore, the Amazon price was 40% less than I could find anywhere else. It's a good buy in my opinion and highly recommend it to others.

Why fix what ain't broke, Moleskine? The whole reason I bought this was for the block calendars, and now they are gone. I wish I had read reviews FIRST. The size is perfect for my bag, but the new line design is going to be much more inconvenient when planning out my monthly schedules. Boo.

I started using Moleskine planners two years ago and I will never go back. I love that the right hand page is blank with only lines so I can write lists. I'm a graduate student so I use the left hand side for meetings and events, and the right hand side for class assignments and To Do lists. It keeps me organized and I LOVE it! Everyone should own a Moleskine!!!

I'm a big Moleskine user/lover - and this is my favorite by far. There is a slight update to the 2012/2013 version: the first portion that last year had quick pages with each month of the year on a separate page (box style) - this year those same pages are listed with each day as a line, rather than a box. Not a big difference - but just pointing out a difference.

As someone who loves to have a schedule, this is a perfect mix of structure and creativity. On the left side of the page is your weekly planner, but on the right is a blank page where you can expand on ideas, take notes, and flesh out some of your creative juices.
