I really like that it starts in July so you can buy it now and begin using it before the 1st of the year.

There is plenty of room to write important appointments or even a small to-do list, which I did to help organize my study time.

I love the elastic band that keeps it closed in my purse and the "built in book marker type ribbon that marks where I am.
hard to please

This is a really great, durable planner. I've used one of these for the past year to keep track of college assignments and important dates like exams, as well as personal or social meetings. Since I tend to miss important appointments or forget about tests without some kind of reminder (I have also been known to show up at the wrong time when I thought I was absolutely sure of the time), a planner is essential for me. This one still looks great and hasn't fallen apart at all after a year of being tossed around in bags. I take it with me everywhere.

The design of the pages is very functional and simple. Each double-page spread is one week, three days per page, with a few lines of space for each day. There is plenty of room to write important appointments or even a small to-do list, which I did to help organize my study time. The weekend splits the last day, meaning there's half the space for Saturday and Sunday. That's a little annoying for writing my weekend study schedule. At the very back, there is a small alphabetized address book. I haven't used it, but it would be convenient to have there if you like that kind of thing on paper. As always, there is a small pocket at the back as well for library cards and such. There is also a full-year overview at the front of the planner.

I should mention that I'm switching to Moleskine's larger version this year. Although this size is perfectly fine and quite convenient for those who like to carry small bags, I tend to carry larger bags anyway and will appreciate some extra room to write. I have large handwriting, too, so it's a little tricky for me to write in such a small space. If I decide that switch was a mistake, I can always switch back. It's just a matter of personal preference and knowing what works for me.

I'm a student and I think this planner, of all the Moleskine ones I've had, is the perfect size and layout. Aside from the sticker sheets all Moleskine planners come with, this includes an insert of blank, lined, tabbed pages on which you can jot extra notes, memos, places to see, etc. and the planner includes sticker labels (blank and titled) for you to put on. Love it, but it is a hard cover (which I didn't realize when purchasing) - I do prefer the softer covers a little more.

Perfect for me! I love the way it is organized, the overlapping years, the tabs, the color (red) and the extras they include. These people no how to do planners!

I have been using the Molescrin 18 moth planner for several years now. Not only does it gets me mostly to where I need to be and records what I need to do, it serves as my wallet, conveniently holding my cash, my receipts, calling cards, in its back pocket --- and it conveniently fits in my bag pocket.

I am pretty particular about my paper planners (never quite adjusted to more technologically advanced options), and this one fit my needs quite well. I like that it's small and fits easily in my bag, and it has plenty of space for notes on each day. I also like the bookmark, the pocket in the back with space for extra notes, and the sleek classic moleskine look. However, the print is pretty small and the dates don't have clear dividing lines between them. I used a highlighter to separate the days and found that it was easier to navigate this way. That's my only complaint- otherwise, very happy with the purchase and would probably buy it again!

This is now going to be my 3rd year using this small planner. I always used large planners until I bought this one by mistake and I am so glad I did! Everything fits in the daily slots and the planner fits inside of my small purses.

When searching for a planner, I had three main criteria in mind - lightness, durable, and user-friendly. The 2013-2014 Moleskine definitely meets the first two points. It's sturdy, not too heavy, and won't unbind after heavy usage (an issue with another planner). However, whoever designed this Moleskine product favored chic-ness, over the end-user. For example, the month is located on the upper right-hand corner of the paper of the left-side page. So it's difficult to tell what month I am looking at unless I fully open the planner i.e., I can't easily find a specific date. (this is hard to describe, but hopefully I can upload a picture.) Basically, you can't tell what month you're looking at - ever. It's a horrible layout!

Also, I like to have month-at-a-glance pages that shows a calendar-style view of the month so I can write all major deadlines and events. Moleskine doesn't give you that option. The entire month of October, for example, is condensed to one column, on a 1/2 page. Each day of the week get a 1/2 line. How am I to write multiple events that occur on the same day? I have 2 projects due and a birthday party. Should I buy a monthly planner to complement the weekly planner? That seems like a waste.

Maybe this planner isn't intended for graduate students or those that have very varied schedules.

The best planner I had was a Greenroom one from Target; however, the binding falls apart and Target only sells it twice a year - summer before the academic year starts and around New Year.
