This little book came in very handy during my first visit to New York. The best feature was being able to sneak a peek at the subway and street maps without looking clearly looking lost. It also has lots of places to list your places of interest, as well as a back pocket to keep cards, etc. of places you want to remember for next time.

NYC is probably the last place you'd want to stand on a street corner with a huge fold-out map of the subway grid... It screams TOURIST!!! This little book is the best alternative to that scenario. You're still able to get the information you need without the rest of the world knowing you have no idea where you are. It's loaded with every possible map you could need in The Big Apple, including Brooklyn, The Bronx, and Queens. And for those of you with a REAL sense of adventure, it even shows you how to get out of Manhattan and into Staten Island, Jersey or the rest of New York State. Not that you'd want to go there... : )

This Moleskine notebook is good quality and size to fit in a pocket or a purse. However, the small size makes the maps and schedules difficult to read because the print is so small. So if you have GREAT eye sight, this notebook is for you.

i wish there were a way to get the maps in a booklet, without all the extra blank pages in the back. i just can't figure out what to do with all those pages, that make this one of the thickest moleskines available. but yeah those maps are perfect. you can label them easily with where all your favorite hangouts are.

actually, not perfect. there are little useless "M"s where all the train stations are, but not the actual letters of the trains that stop there. get it right next time, skiney.

Great maps make it easy to get around the city. Used the subways during my trip. Subway map was a big help.

Get it and have fun in NYC!

Practical, well thopught out, compact, yet it has EVERYTHING you need for business and leasure. Perrrfect !

I just love the feel of the book in my hands. As with all the themed Moleskines, the NYC City Guide is laid out in a very convenient way.

The maps and other "helpful" pages are found in the front, and the section for your entries is in the back. The tracing paper puzzles me. Right now I don't see the point, but maybe in future I might want to use it.

The size, while not exactly meant for a standard pocket, is still compact. (If they'd made it any smaller the maps would have been useless).

Within an hour of receipt I'd already started hacking it:

1 - Added a second pocket to the inside of the front cover using an old clear plastic baseball card slip cover (attached with gift wrapping decorative cello tape).

2 - Used the cello tape to create tabs on the map pages I use most.

3 - Used cut out squares of post-it notes (the sticky edge of course) to mark the maps with places I've been and/or will be going

4 - Added a small pad of post-it notes to the back of the book (again, using the decorative tape)

5 - Printed out the local train schedules and taped them in on the last page

You can do whatever you want with these books. They're versatile, well made, and gorgeous.

I've already bought/received the 18-month day planner, and will be purchasing the passions music journal as well.

Don't trust me I'm biased haha, I love Moleskine products. This NY guide it's really cool like most of their products. Haven't been o NY yet, but hopefully this little notebook will help me to get through it.

This City Notebook is great if you enjoy planning your own trips and not being overwhelmed with so many locations and attractions. You add all the places you want to go and anywhere you have gone while on the trip and can plot maps and add notes as you go along. Great way to travel for the particular travelers who don't want to do the same touristy things that everyone tries to do while on trips. Especially great if it is somewhere you vacation a lot or like to travel to so that you can remember where you have already gone and what you may want to do on the next trip.

Fantastic notebook, it's just like writing your own travel guide! There's maps inside with clear sticky notes for you to map out your route and plenty of space to write in.

The only down side is not having a world map and international times inside.

The book came in great condition, just like buying it from the store. I'm very happy with the money saved buying this on Amazon!
