It's about the same thickness as the same-size hardcover notebook, but it's much lighter.
The Memo Pockets accordion design expands to many times its initial size, but functionally, more than three times and it won't close properly. The elastic is good; I've used mine for years now and it holds, nothing falls out. For $10-15, not a bad buy if you want a semi-classy, compact organizer. Keep in mind that the dimensions listed aren't accurate.
11.8 x 0.6 x 8.4 inches
However this product is at most half of that size. Maybe they took the measurements when it was open?
I returned it and am getting the larger size.

I use this to hold credit card and atm receipts and love it! I'm on my second one- the first lasted over 5 years before the pockets got a bit frayed. A great organizer!Published 6 months ago by Bob S.
Big, useful, satisfying. Well-made. I wish it were 1/2" smaller in length and width, just for my own needs. But this is quibbling. Moleskine quality.Published 10 months ago by Mark Statman
Elastic band loosened up a few months after purchase. Ended up trimming it off and securing it with a binder clip.Published 13 months ago by Amazon Customer
