Perfect balance of organization and mobility, March 28, 2009
I have been looking for the perfect daily planner for a while. While electronic solutions appeal to me, I find that I prefer the pen-to-paper approach with daily planning as it helps with memorization for me. Unfortunately, the paper planners I've found are either well organized, but too bulky to be effectively mobile, or they're steamlined but usually no better than a blank ruled notebook. I previously purchased a Franklin Covey binder planner and in the end I was annoyed that my planner needed its own carrying system in order to be mobile!
I wanted a planner that was well organized and had enough details to make it useable, but still fit in my purse so that I would actually use it. When I discovered that Moleskine makes planners, I was thrilled. Their sketchbooks are very high quality. This is a seriously fantastic brand. I purchased this planner because I liked the additional writing room I got with the daily page structure.
The benefits of this book:
- The hard cover makes it easy to write on the go.
- It comes with a slim, unobtrusive, expandable pocket in the back to hold clippings and small paperwork.
- It comes with cute, color coded stickers to mark special occasions
- It has a large reference section and world map, great for travel
- The elastic band that closes the book is sturdy and secure
- The book is well constructed and shows little wear, even with daily use
- Its the size of a regular paperback book, so it fits into my medium sized purse easily
It works perfectly for me, but if you're used to the customizable organizational system of the larger binder planners, you may be unhappy with this one as it is stitch-bound and pages are not meant to be removed. However, I think this system is intuitively designed and fits perfectly with my lifestyle. It has certainly helped me become more organized!

loooooooooove this. excellent companion to my iphone., December 17, 2009
This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Red Hard Large (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I really like this planner. The type of planner where you can customize everything is fine during the time it takes to customize (the fun part). After that it's just all too much. This is a perfect planner. Lots of space for every day, the paper quality is as good as any other Moleskine, it's pretty, it feels good. For you pen geeks (you know who you are) this is a very pleasant tactile experience. I also like the quick list calendar (6 months at a glance) where you can jot birthdays and see them coming. There is a removable address book so you don't have to re-write everything annually.
Prior to this I used the large hardback Architect and Designer Diary, which is super fab but doesn't fit in your small bag.
The bonus of having this in a meeting is that there are probably days you didn't write in - and now you have beautiful drawing space that you're nearly required to draw in. If you don't draw there's room for your daily poem, anecdotes about your kids, the color of the leaves that day, whatever makes you happy. One page per day. Plenty of room for real grownup work stuff too.
Other aspects have already been noted. I love that this is basic and useful and beautiful and red (get black if you are more serious). Buy it for your paper/pen/writing/drawing self or friend. It will not disappoint.

Love this Moleskine product!, July 23, 2010
This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Red Hard Large (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I adore my Moleskine products. I have a few items and all of them are fabulous. Anyone who has owned a Moleskine knows that you sort of just fall in love with them and then don't want to buy anything else.
I have heard that the Filofax is a more beefed-up version of this particular item, and I might explore that, but for 2010, this calendar has been fantastic. I love that mine gets dumped in and out of my bag every day, is stuffed full of loose magazine pages that I've torn out for whatever reason, and it still looks great. I think I might actually like it more now that it looks a bit worn in.
I can totally recommend this product.
