4.0 out of 5 stars Good daily planner / appt book
I have used Moleskine planners for 3 years now. I previously used the hardcover week-at-a-time weekly planner, in the small and large sizes, so they would fit in my purse, and not be too heavy. I've followed my husband's example, who tracks his work each day in the book, and upsized to the daily planner. The book is thick, but still manageable. The softcover makes it fit...

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost what I was looking for.
I've had a real problem over the past years finding a Daily Planner that gives equal space for Saturday and Sunday planning in relation to Monday - Friday. Purchasing this Planner which gives equal space, with minor differences for Saturday and Sunday was great. When I received the Planner, among the front pages, as expected, it includes a month at a glance for all of...

The softcover makes it fit in my bag or purse more easily. However, if you are hard on your books, you should probably get the hardcover version. There is a ribbon to mark what day you are on, and also the phases of the moon and holidays are tracked on each page. If you bear down really hard, you might find the paper too thin. The quality is good, however. I use my Moleskine planner to track what I have done, my thoughts, etc. for each day and I find it perfect for this purpose. Recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pricey, but excellent calendar, November 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm a big fan of the Moleskine line of notebooks, and for the last several years I've used the 12 Month Daily Planners as my primary calendar for all things work and play. The paper quality is exactly what you'd expect from a Moleskine, with each day having hours for appointments. It isn't until late in the year that these books really show wear and tear in the spine from daily use, and that's usually at a minimum.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite daily planner, November 7, 2009

This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Large Soft Black (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
Note: For 2009 I used the regular sized planner and was not very happy with it. It was just a bit too small. So for 2010 I've gone back to the large daily planner. I'm trying out the soft cover. I'm a little nervous about that. Will it be too soft? I'm not sure I'll prefer it to the hard cover. But I know that I will prefer the larger planner to the smaller one.

I first started using the Moleskine daily planner in 2007 and have already purchased one for 2009. What I love about this is that it combines the quality of the regular notebooks with remarkable functionality. For instance, I utilize it only minimally as a planner but use it primarily as a log for what I have read and seen. Because a lot of my work involves watching TV shows and movies, I like to record precisely what I have watched each day, along with the page counts of the various books I have read in. There are several blank pages at the back and I use these to record how many times I have heard an album all the way through (I have the personal rule that I will not review any album on Amazon unless I have heard it ten times, which partially accounts for why nearly all my record reviews dispense four and five stars -- if I don't like an album I simply don't reach the requisite ten listens). Thus, I use this far more as a diary or work log than as a planner. I've always been blessed with a good memory and rarely find that I need to write down a future appointment or date.

Because I use this far more to record what work I have gotten done and because I more work on my own projects more on Saturdays and Sundays than I do during the week, I really love that this planner devotes a whole page to both Saturday and Sunday. Too many planners give a half page to each day, the very days that I actually need more room for than other days.

I do, however, write down future appointments and for this the planner is admirable. Again, its layout allows for flexibility. The hours are marked from 8 to 8, but the numbers are so small and unobtrusive as to leave a very light footprint on the page. If you want to use the page differently, you can easily do so.

This is one of those few items that I have come to rely upon so frequently that I can't imagine doing without it. Every time I leave the house I have my messenger bag containing book, notebooks, iPod, pens and pencils, and planner. I can't imagine many not being delighted with this. I will add that in 2007 I used the regular sized daily planner, but in 2008 I switched to the large planner. I definitely recommend the larger size. If you, like me, intend to use this more as a journal than a planner, the extra space for writing is quite valuable. While I have not used the 2009 large daily planner, I can tell that it will be of far greater utility. In short, a huge thumbs up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes, the old fashioned way is best, September 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Large Soft Black (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I'm pretty connected; iphone, computer, etc. But, I can't give up my moleskine date book. I use it to take notes when working with clients, do personal journaling and keep appointments. Even with an electronic backup on a calendar, it's great to have. I love the size and the daily version. I am a freelancer working with many clients so because I take notes on the date of a meeting, it's easy for me to flip back to around the dates I did the project to go back to see if I jotted down a phone number or if there was some question or dispute. I track work, my diet, my exercise...all in one place and there's something about the act of writing that is therapeutic. Much of the info does get transferred to my iphone stuff, but I still need my moleskine. And, doodling still doesn't cut it on the iphone.

And because it's a moleskine, I love the stitched pages, the soft but durable color, and the fact that I can feel like I'm Indiana Jones or some other famous, eccentric type jotting down my most profound and genius thoughts!

5.0 out of 5 stars Moleskin, November 11, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Just got my new Moleskin. I had the exact same model for 2011 and was very pleased with it, so I am a returning customer. I loved having so much space to write per day, and because it was a little hefty I never misplaced it. Also, it's aesthetically very pleasing.

If you need a Daily Planner, buy this one by Moleskine. This is the 6th year, I chose this brand. Available with a hard or soft cover, black or red. Each page has 30 lines to write your hourly appts plus extra "to do" reminders. There are 2010 and 2011 reference calendars, lists of International Holidays, extra "note" pages and much more. I like the almost gray lines on each page. The hard cover also has an address book insert. The soft cover version doesn't, so try to buy that separately if you need it. Fair Price, Great Product. It's like pasta, once you buy it, you'll never stop ordering it.Also has a "ribbon" marker. Variety of sizes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality, poor shipping, July 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The calendar is great, with typical excellent Moleskine quality and features. I like the elastic strap to keep it from flapping open. It's a little too big for me to carry every day so will probably get the smaller one next year.

The shipping took 3 weeks, which is way too long, but was within the time range posted by the seller, so I guess I shouldn't complain. Next time I'll use a different seller, or purchase locally.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, December 29, 2010
I spend this time every year looking for a planner for the upcoming year...and end up purchasing something in mid january when everything is almost sold out and nothing was quite what i was looking for. There are the way over priced executive ones which are overkill for day to day notes and ocassional appointments, or the high school type which are a bit to little, and tend to have pictures or cartoony designs on them. For the last few years I have purchased a Mead plastic cover planner which was the best compromise I could find. It has served well, but was never exactly what I was looking for- not to small, but not a binder either, durable for carrying around, good for notes (basically a journal with out the "diary" feel), and something I could keep for years on the shelf (but not an unlined blank book. It didnt seem like to much to ask, but i never found it.

This holiday season i was in a book store and saw these...I owned a Moleskine hardcover or two but had never seen the planners. Absolute perfection. Hard or softcover available, and up to a full page for each day which allows it to be a journal/planner which is how i would say i use it. Pocket in the back for a few keepsakes or ticket stubs, and a surprise to me, a removable address book.

I wish I had found this book 5 years ago, it would have been the perfect record book and stored nicely on the shelf instead of the spiral books I have in the drawer. For the Amazon price (which is quite below suggested bookstore retail) it's a bargain by far. A decent one at Walmart is around ten dollars- for under $20 this one is a world more and the paper is acid free, so it will stand the test of time.

I found this to be the PERFECT Journal/Planner on the market, and would probably pay as much as $50 since its exactly what i was looking for. I will be using this for as long as they make them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect - 4 1/2 stars, September 18, 2010

The quality of the product is very good for the price - paper weight and stitched binding. The book calendar or desk diary that I have been using for the past 6 years was discontinued which is what prompted me to try this one. This one has the full page per day layout that I wanted as well as a calendar view for each month at the start of the "book". I'm used to also having a monthly view calendar that runs across the bottom of each page and holidays marked at the top of each daily page, as applicable. However, this is a minor inconvenience. The cover is a little on the thin side, so next year I will look for one that has a hard cover. The Amazon price of $18 is half as much as the Moleskin website price, and a fraction of the cost of a DayTimer or DayRunner. Very pleased with purchase

This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Large Soft Black (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I have been looking for this calendar for about 3 months. I have tried over 8 different stores and 3 different online sellers. This was the only one that worked! I was shipped exactly what I wanted! The daily format has just enough room to write everything and is just the right size to fit in a purse! It was shipped very quickly (even from the UK) and was perfect!!
