1.0 out of 5 stars Where is my planner?
Last time I ordered this planner through Amazon I received it in a week, tops. I've now been waiting a week for this to SHIP. I bought it with enough time for it to arrive before the semester started and work picked up again, and nothing. It's just a book, why is this taking so damn long?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect balance of organization and mobility, March 28, 2009

I have been looking for the perfect daily planner for a while. While electronic solutions appeal to me, I find that I prefer the pen-to-paper approach with daily planning as it helps with memorization for me. Unfortunately, the paper planners I've found are either well organized, but too bulky to be effectively mobile, or they're steamlined but usually no better than a blank ruled notebook. I previously purchased a Franklin Covey binder planner and in the end I was annoyed that my planner needed its own carrying system in order to be mobile!

I wanted a planner that was well organized and had enough details to make it useable, but still fit in my purse so that I would actually use it. When I discovered that Moleskine makes planners, I was thrilled. Their sketchbooks are very high quality. This is a seriously fantastic brand. I purchased this planner because I liked the additional writing room I got with the daily page structure.

The benefits of this book:

- The hard cover makes it easy to write on the go.
- It comes with a slim, unobtrusive, expandable pocket in the back to hold clippings and small paperwork.
- It comes with cute, color coded stickers to mark special occasions
- It has a large reference section and world map, great for travel
- The elastic band that closes the book is sturdy and secure
- The book is well constructed and shows little wear, even with daily use
- Its the size of a regular paperback book, so it fits into my medium sized purse easily

It works perfectly for me, but if you're used to the customizable organizational system of the larger binder planners, you may be unhappy with this one as it is stitch-bound and pages are not meant to be removed. However, I think this system is intuitively designed and fits perfectly with my lifestyle. It has certainly helped me become more organized!

5.0 out of 5 stars loooooooooove this. excellent companion to my iphone., December 17, 2009

This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Red Hard Large (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I really like this planner. The type of planner where you can customize everything is fine during the time it takes to customize (the fun part). After that it's just all too much. This is a perfect planner. Lots of space for every day, the paper quality is as good as any other Moleskine, it's pretty, it feels good. For you pen geeks (you know who you are) this is a very pleasant tactile experience. I also like the quick list calendar (6 months at a glance) where you can jot birthdays and see them coming. There is a removable address book so you don't have to re-write everything annually.

Prior to this I used the large hardback Architect and Designer Diary, which is super fab but doesn't fit in your small bag.

The bonus of having this in a meeting is that there are probably days you didn't write in - and now you have beautiful drawing space that you're nearly required to draw in. If you don't draw there's room for your daily poem, anecdotes about your kids, the color of the leaves that day, whatever makes you happy. One page per day. Plenty of room for real grownup work stuff too.

Other aspects have already been noted. I love that this is basic and useful and beautiful and red (get black if you are more serious). Buy it for your paper/pen/writing/drawing self or friend. It will not disappoint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this Moleskine product!, July 23, 2010

This review is from: Moleskine Daily Planner 2010 12 Month Red Hard Large (Moleskine Srl) (Calendar)
I adore my Moleskine products. I have a few items and all of them are fabulous. Anyone who has owned a Moleskine knows that you sort of just fall in love with them and then don't want to buy anything else.

I have heard that the Filofax is a more beefed-up version of this particular item, and I might explore that, but for 2010, this calendar has been fantastic. I love that mine gets dumped in and out of my bag every day, is stuffed full of loose magazine pages that I've torn out for whatever reason, and it still looks great. I think I might actually like it more now that it looks a bit worn in.

I can totally recommend this product.

I have constantly looked for the perfect "little" calendar and organizer to jot all my appointments and lists. Tried electronic (too hard to see multiple months) and paper from bulky Franklin and Quo to smaller DayTimer/folios. This Moleskin version is not too big and not too small to accommodate my notes for the insane days where I need more than 1.5" space to write appointments. Though I just received it, I already started using it and received compliments from colleagues. The front section that shows 4 months in two pages is really handy to visually prepare for reunions, trials, and other longterm company deadlines. I love it enough to write my first review.

Moleskine is classy and useful. I have been using Moleskine weekly planners and notebooks for some years and this is the first time I ordered a daily planner. Just the size and form I was looking for.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for a daily log!, August 25, 2008
While this was designed as a daily planner, I plan to use this as a running log. I run 5 to 6 times a week averaging about 40 miles a week. This book is perfect for keeping track of runs and related items including:

* daily mileage, pace, time spent, heart rate, cadence (foot cadence sensor)
* weather conditions
* shoes used
* weight
* body fat

It has a section in the front for monthly planning and that's perfect for marking in the monthly plan to the detail of day to day planning. This section can also be to pencil in the actual miles ran for that day

There is a tuck in booklet in the back pocket that I plan to:
* calculate my shoe mileage (I have two to three pairs of running shoes any given time)
* tabulate and graph my weight and body fat daily
The booklet is tabbed and originally designed for keeping addresses but since I'm not using it that way, this booklet is perfect for what the two items I will use it for.

Overall, this planner is actually much better than the pre-printed running logs out there. Often, I find that pre-printed running logs are filled with textual advice that I don't read and thus it takes up unnecessary room. Plus, pre-printed running logs don't have enough flexibility for me to keep track of things like my weight, shoe mileage, and so forth.

Of course, a thick blank notebook (such as from Miquelrius) would also work but I'd have to mark in all the dates and create my own columns for the monthly planning etc. In the case of this planner, it is structured enough that it makes keeping the data I want easy, but also unstructured enough that I can manipulate the structure to the way I prefer it.

An excellent product and I give it 4 stars. Four stars because certainly there are ways to improve it. For one, I'd include a monthly calendar not only in the column format that it currently has, but in a table format so that one can easily compare workouts for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays etc.

I love the versatility of the Moleskine products. This one is no exception. It is beautiful, well-made and the bright red cover will be easy to find in my purse. I love the packet of stickers that came along with it. I am looking forward to using it in 2012.
