Quality has gone downhill,

This review is from: Moleskine 2012 12 Month Weekly Notebook Black Soft Cover Pocket (Moleskine Legendary Notebooks (Calendars)) (Calendar)
I have used and carried Moleskine notebooks for years due to the great paper and build quality, but 2011 will be my last one. The construction of their books is no longer anything special, especially for the price they demand. With my latest book the elastic came unglued from one end, then the other, and now the pocket bottom has worn through. When I contacted them, I was surprised to learn these are no longer made in Europe, but in China.
Moleskine has gone from a true quality product, to just another piece of Chinese made junk. There are better options on the market.

This thing is absolutely perfect. It's small enough to carry around in your pocket or in your purse without taking up a huge amount of space. Its got empty space for everyday things and an empty page along side of each week in case you need to jot down some more info. I love that it doesn't have printed hours on it. It is perfect! I will definitely be purchasing one each year for the rest of my life!

2012 will be my third year using this planner. It is perfect for me. I love the pocket in it! The pocket usually tears for me because I use it so much, but I tape it and it's good to go. I write classes, birthdays, holidays, etc. on the left side and my weekly to-do lists, weekly bills and other notes on the right each week. I write important info on the notes pages in the back. I never go without this essential planner!Edit: I have given this to my husband in the hopes he'll use it. I THOUGHT this was the NORMAL sized one, my mistake.

The Moleskine weekly notebook is just about perfect. The week layed out by day facing a ruled sheet for notes format suites me well, this is the fifth year running that I've purchased one. Of course, the quality is typical Moleskine, you won't find better. I got the softbound version, easier on the pocket.

I've been using the annual versions of this calendar/diary/notebook for five years. A good size for a shirt pocket, it is flexible so it stands up to a year's worth of being stuffed into pockets, bags, other carry-all's. The construction seems sturdy. The design and lay-out are good. The built-in bookmark and elastic closure are very useful. It has enough daily entry space for my not-so-busy life. If you assign your time in 10-minute slices you should seek another (Moleskine) product.

This is an outstanding product. Fits perfectly into the pocket of my jeans. This is my second one, the first (last year) was 18months which was just a little too thick and had too many pages that I didn't need. Buy and Enjoy!

I have tried three different sizes of moleskine weekly notebook. First I tried the medium sized one which was good. Then I tried the bigger one which just couldn't fit in any decent sized handbag. This is the smallest one, about the size of my palm. It still gives plenty of room to write on the notebook page of each spread. I really love that feature about all three sizes and couldn't imagine having any other calendar. It fits easily in a pocket or handbag. And it looks really good, too. Wherever I am in the world I go out of my way to get it.

Dec. 27, 2010: Addition to review after almost a year. This little calendar held together wonderfully after being in my pockets most of every day's waking hours. I could have carried it another year without it falling apart. However, I learned that it's not washer/dryer proof. Well, duh, how could it be? Fortunately it took until late December for me to finally leave it in my jeans during a wash and dry. That completely destroyed it, but I salvaged the few pages I really needed. I'm starting off a brand new year with a brand new Moleskine. No complaints!
***** I've needed this soft cover pocket calendar forever, finally realized that, and got one. It's just the right size for my jeans pockets and for the pants I wear at work - pants with pockets on top of pockets for all the little gear I need during the day. I've tried PDAs, note pads, sticky notes, palm-of-hand, and folded copier paper for the reminders and lists I make all day, but this has finally consolidated most of what I need into a soft, light booklet with a week-to-week calendar, room for notes opposite the date page, this year's and next year's full calendars on a page, measurement conversion charts, a light elastic placemarker fixed in the booklet ... and more ... all in a little package that's comfortable in my pocket all the time. No batteries, either. Ink and paper - still good tech.

This is the second year that I have decided to keep track of my life with the help of a Moleskine. I used to have a PDA and I just decided that it is much easier to just jot things down quickly without having to charge, sync etc. This is a compact book and you have room to write in events and there is a lined sheet for every week to write down phone numbers, shopping lists, comments, memos. If you have ten meetings a day this might not be for you. I have a few children and we are all involved in something and this has worked for us. You might wonder if it's worth spending the $. I found his to be really sturdy. I carried my old one around for 18 months usually at the bottom of my bag and it still looks pretty good.

I love moleskin planners! This one has the days of the week on side, and plain lined paper on the other so you can write notes (I use it for writing to-do lists or grocery lists). Size is perfect, and the cover material makes it durable even though I just throw it in my purse.
