Molly 'N Me Orb Light - Green/Turquoise

After completely redecorating my fourteen-year-old daughter's room, we began looking for accent lamps. Some of the reviews about the Molly `N Me Orb Light were mixed when it came to how much light one gives off. Personally, I didn't care. Like I said, these were purchased to add personality to her room. What I wasn't sure about was what type of light bulbs. The base is small--uses what I use to call chandelier light bulbs. The correct term is candelabra base. On the actual fixture, it says to use a 25 watt, but even that grows scary hot after fifteen or so minutes.

Instead, I purchased the compact fluorescent bulbs that only get warm to the touch, never hot. By doing so, you can increase the watt equivalency. I'm using a 40 watt equivalent, but the actual watts used is 7. I picked the bulbs up at Home Depot. I can't find the exact brand/type here, but it looks similar to the Sylvania 25986 9-Watt Compact Fluorescent B10 Light, 2 Pack. The amount of light from this bulb is surprisingly bright.

The fixture itself is made out of a heavy, sturdy wire with a lighter wire connecting the beads. A hanging hook is included, but I didn't trust the screws would stay in the ceiling. Instead, we purchased the Stanley 561245 White Decorative Ceiling Hook.

One thing I was worried about was how the manufacture packaged the box. Amazon always does a good job, but still. One broken bead and my OCD will kick into high gear. The entire globe came packaged in a Styrofoam block that is designed to fit. It comes already assembled, you just need to add a bulb. Oh, and there is a switch to easily turn the light on and off.

Sometimes things look better in pictures than in real life, but the opposite was true here. I purchased two and both are simply beautiful. There are three colors I know of so far. This one with the blue, green, and clear beading that's 10 inches in diameter. There's a larger Molly 'N Me 14" Orb Light - Multi Color and the Molly 'N Me 10" Orb Light - Crystal.

I love this light not sure why others thought it wasn't bright enough. Put it above my computer w/green light bulb and it's great but wouldn't use it as a main hanging light for a big room. More for a side/corner light

My daughters room is now complete. She was able to create a more mature room, but this lamp still maintains a bit of whimsy! She is 13, so keeping it young and fun is great.

The lamp arrived quickly and is just as pictured/described. It makes a great addition to my daughters room.
