Praise for the Molly Moon series:“This bigger-than-life tale offers delightfully dastardly villains, a sympathetic heroine who lives out every child’s dream and plenty of fast-paced action.” (Publishers Weekly (starred review))

“Recommend this novel to fans of Lemony Snicket.” (School Library Journal)

“Molly Moon is back, and Byng has outdone herself. Molly is irresistible. More than just roaring good fun; it’s a feel-good story that will leave [readers] hungry for more about a winning kid who learns to be comfortable in her own skin.” (ALA Booklist)

“An enjoyable over-the-top page turner.” (Kirkus Reviews)

“Can there ever be too many Molly Moons?” (Publishers Weekly)

More About the Author

Georgia Byng grew up outside Winchester, in England, near the river Itchen, with three naughty brothers and a sister. Her dad was nature loving and her mum was very encouraging and warm. The nearby country lane with its many cottages was somewhere Georgia first found out about characters, for it was teeming with them, and she used to interview them. Otherwise she would try to sell these neighbours things she had made. As a child she loved acting and so at 18 went to The Central School of Speech and Drama in London. After college she began to paint and write. She had always written poems and songs but now she started writing stories. Her first were in comic strip, a medium that she worked with for five years. The Sock Monsters was her first published book in 1995 - a comic strip story for 5 - 7 year olds. Georgia lives in a house in London full of old and new art, as her husband is the conceptual artist Marc Quinn. Marc keeps all sorts of strange things in the fridge - once he had to keep a Canadian frog in there as it was hibernating and had to be kept cold. They and their family, Tiger (17), Lucas (6) and Sky (2) love to travel, their favorite destination being India.

I loved the Molly Moons. I still do, and I'm a teenager! These books where one of the first series books I read that was above the level of 'Magic Tree House', and 'Junie B. Jones', and I loved them, and have dedicatedly followed the whole series.

However, I didn't know this book had come out until I saw it in the local Barnes & Noble. So I checked it out from the local library, tossed aside the bad romance I was reading, and eagerly flipped to the first page.

I expected this series to be wrapped up perfectly, to feel complete. It wasn't. When I reached the end, I got the 'That's it???' feeling, like you get when you read a book that ends in a cliff-hanger.

It was also missing the zing from the earlier books that kept me coming back. When I finished this, I felt like I was reading a book about a completely different character, with a whole bunch of other completely different characters. It was also missing the hypnotic/world-stopping/time-traveling/mind-reading/morphing element of the other books.

*SPOILER*

At the end, it is reviled that Molly lost all her powers. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I mean, come on! It's like you just wrote a whole series, made the character grow in so many ways, all for nothing? I get the message is 'family is important', but you could have still made that message without taking away Molly's powers.

*END OF SPOILER*

Honestly, I think the series would have been wrapped up better at the end of Morphing Mystery. The whole reason I wasn't expecting this book is because the series felt complete at the end of MM. To me, this felt like a badly-written fan fiction by someone who didn't do their research on the books.

The Molly Moon series was great, and I will miss it, but if you really want a complete feeling to the end of the series, stop at Morphing Mystery.

This book is like a portal to another world. There Georgia Byng's original words let me experience Molly's world-what she feels, thinks, smells, tastes and touches. The Molly Moon series is a thought that grew into not one book, not two books but six books;so far! What I have just read is pages of words that spin a net around you, pulling you into Molly's world. I could continue on for ages, typing thousands of words of praise about this book, maybe creating my own story but what I am trying to say is 'this book is amazing. You must read it. Please read it' Thank You!

Many readers are disappointed with this ending, some think this is the proper end. I don't know what to say, because this is the least favourite Molly book of mine. When I had first got hold of the first book from the library, I was so awestruck that I got all the books together. I loved the message this book brings forth, though I have to admit I did not want it to end like this. Or even end so soon. But probably this was the end that was proper. God bless Georgia for giving us this series. You are one of the most brilliant authors I have ever loved.

My 4th grader's teacher read this as a read aloud to the class. He immediately came home and wanted the books. He won't put them down. He was only so so about reading before but these caught his imagination.
