5.0 out of 5 stars A Romance, Historical Novel & Action, Adventure Story, January 8, 2004
This review is from: Molly of the Shakers (Hardcover)
This is a very engaging book, both as historical fiction and as a romance story. It includes many details about the Western Kentucky area at the time of the Civil War. It also gives many detailed accounts of Shaker life at the time. It includes battle scenes too. The unknown grave at Graham Springs, Harrodsburg is covered in the book. The author is a third generation journalist whose grandfather kept a diary for 52 years documenting life in the state's pioneer days. those writings were edited into a book: Life With Grandfather, in 1981.
