Spend an extra 5 bucks and get Maui Revealed or one of the thicker guides. This one is a lot of pictures, little real travel advice.

WE do not travel without the Top 10 Guides...Used the guide in Argentina (Buenos Aires) for sightseeing, restaurants, etc. and in a few short days felt that we had a working knowledge of the Best of the Best that BA had to offer... have reviewed the guide prior to our adventure in Maui, and found that our extensive alternate research had yielded essentially the same recommendations, but with a lot more time involved ... call them the COSTCO of guide books...quality, and selection all in one location

I find the Eyewitness travel series to be especially helpful. There is a wide range of information presented in a colorful manner, and well organized. I've bought two so far, one for Paris and one for Hawaii and we've gotten lots of mileage out of both, so to speak. The Maui guide has everything from restaurants to beaches to historical sites, with great insights.
