I am fluent in Spanish and my son was watching this video and I was shocked that this video was rated so well. It's probably rated well because the people rating it do not speak Spanish. First of all, they let "students" pronounce a whole bunch of words. I have a problem with this, because they are pronouncing them incorrectly. Young kids are perfectly capable of trilling an R, and yet they had the students NOT trilling the R's. I don't even like the way the "teacher" pronounces some of her words. Next, I have no idea where the woman who created this video is from, but I was shocked. She used several latin american folk songs in the video and she changed a bunch of the words to the songs. The changes SOUND like what the correct version of the song is, but aren't. For example in the song Tres Elephantes, it is supposed to be three elephants balance on the tail of a monkey but they changed it to three elephants are jumping (up and down). It's bizarre. They did the same thing with itsy bitsy spider. Like someone translated it from English literally, which isn't how the Spanish version is sung. They did this with all the songs. There were several words they used that I did not think were correct either. All in all, a VERY disappointing video. I don't want my son learning things incorrectly so he won't be watching it again. What a waste of $$$$.

This DVD has been a great introduction to Spanish for both me and my children! We enjoy watching it together, and I like the tips for parents that give ideas for reinforcing the things we have learned. Afterall, as the video points out, "parents are the most important part of learning." We started watching it when my children were 2 and 5. It's engaging for both of them, and I love that the written words appear on the screen along with the spoken words and songs.

"Mom,Dad & ME Aprendemos Espanol" is a fun and effective way to teach Spanish to children. The content is appropriate for those beginning to learn the language and those already exposed to Spanish. The format encorporates effective use of music, repetition, practical themes and color to hold the audience's attention. The DVD teaches both vocabulary and grammar in simple ways through conversation and play scenes. The producers are definately in tune with what works. You and your children are guaranteed to love it.

Mom, Dad & Me Aprendemos Espanol has been a great learning tool for our 4 year old as well as for our whole family. One chapter per night is all that is needed to get the basics started. Learning as a family makes it easy and fun. We highly recomend this DVD and agree that it is both appropriate and enjoyable for children ages 2 and up.

Mom, Dad & Me Aprendemos Espanol is an excellent program for families wishing to learn Spanish. It has an easy to follow format which is both entertaining and educational. My two and four year olds are enjoying learning to speak Spanish while they "play" with the children on the DVD. The DVD also holds the interest of my nine year old who has had some Spanish instruction in the public school system. The program combines basic Spanish vocabulary in phrases, commands, and fun songs. This practical approach allows us to start using what we are learning right away in our every day activities. The words are pronounced both by a native speaker and by groups of children so that I feel like we are developing a good ear for the language as well. Most of all, my kids really enjoy it!

the content is good........i can learn alot and so can my kids....but they refuse to watch since they watched "que diermas bien" which i also bought at amazon and is much more fun and upbeat.....i do not regret this purchase as it will surely help me but i wish it had more songs and was not so teacher like.....kids will ask for a dvd if they dont know they are learning:-)...try que diermas bien !! my kids beg for it.....i also bought "international baby spanish" from another site not available from amazon..and it was great too.....but will not play in the computor dvd player only on a regular...would recomment this dvd mom,dad and me ONLY for adults or teenagers!

We have been enjoying this video for almost a year. My 4 year old takes Spanish and this is a great reinforcement. My 2 year old watches the video with his sister and is learning right along with her. This video covers some basic elements that are important for children and is at an appropriate pace. It has a good mix of visuals as well as songs. This allows for the children to stay focused and watch the video from beginning to end.

I bought this DVD based upon other great reviews and was really disappointed. My toddler will not even watch it. He has other spanish DVDs that hold his attention and that he loves. This one moves very slowly and appears more like a home produced video than a professionally made DJD. It might be a good tool for a parent wanting some tips on activities to do with their child, but I know enough spanish to find it too basic. I think there are much better spanish immersion DVDs available. Whistlefritz are by far the best DVDs that I have seen so far and my son just loves them!

My 4 year old and I very much enjoy the Mom, Dad & Me, Aprendemos Espanol DVD. It is a great tool for learning or reviewing the spanish language. The variety of topics covered along with the bright, varied visuals keep the attention of preschoolers well, and the printed words on the screen work well to reinforce the spoken language. I really like that the creator uses children as teachers in the DVD; this keeps children interested as well. The Spanish folk songs that are used in the DVD are really fun. My son is seven months old now, and we have been watching this dvd every day since he was two months old. He still loves it. Even when he was very young, he could be screaming and would immediately smile when I put in the dvd. He stays glued to it for the entire length of the program. It is a great, fun learning tool, and I can't wait for the next one.
