It can be an experience that parent and child share together; one that encourages communication, while serving as a vehicle for the child to safely share the emotiional turmoil he feels. About the Author

Shari Lichtenstein has been an oncology social worker at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago for the past 14 years. She deals with cancer patients daily as well as their families. She offer numerous support groups. She as been on radio and TV to promote her book as well as to discuss emotional implicarions of having a parent with cancer. She has also spoken to groups on how to deal effectively with you children if you (or someone in your family) have cancer. Shari is a former elementary school teacher.
