5.0 out of 5 stars Informative and inspiring, March 11, 2006
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
Mom inventors wanting more info on what's involved in bringing a product to market will want to read this book. The book offers practical advice on researching your market, creating your product prototype, protecting your idea, manufacturing your product, and bringing your product to market.

What I like best about the book is that it features case studies and practical advice from real-life mom inventors.

There are also lots of helpful website links and other helpful resources at the back of the book -- very helpful for mom inventors who wish to do some additional research.

This is a terrific and inspiring book that will be very helpful to mom inventors at any stage of bringing an invention to market -- conception right through delivery.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent -- 5 starts plus!, October 13, 2005
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
The Mom Inventor's Handbook is a very detailed, hands on guide for taking an invention from idea to reality. There are several things I believe make it so useful: it's relevant and recent (no outdated advice here), it's based on real-world experience from an inventor and the others she has mentored, and it offers myriad resources to implement her advice. The examples of moms who have had success also make it inspirational.

I also liked how the author uses examples that clearly illustrate what she is advising. For examples, she gives before and after pictures of the packaging design for her invention, the TP Saver when illustrating design elements.

I interviewed the author about the book on my Internet radio show, EverydayWealthRadio, and found her to be very knowledgeable. If you've been thinking of inventing a product, this is a book you must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tremendous aid for understanding how to turn your new product idea into a successful business, June 9, 2006
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
I launched a new product line several years ago - learning a lot along the way. I am getting ready to launch a new line of products and decided to read this book. It was a tremendous resource! So many of the answers that I had to dig for and learn the hard (and expensive) way - are contained here in one easy to read book. I highly endorse it. It is also very motivational (as you read the stories of other people) that decided to take action and turn their idea into a successful business. Well worth the price. Very well written.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, Informational & A Must Have, November 18, 2005
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
This book does it all for anyone wanting to create/invent a product that they hope to bring to market. Tamara shares in a very easy-to-read format her experiences, her expertise and saves the rest of us lots of time, energy and money. Her mistakes made along the way combined with her successes that continue to grow provide the reader with a wealth of knowledge about researching, developing, patenting, protecting, marketing (and more!) an idea/invention.

Pair this with the CD sets created by her dynamic and resourceful company mominventors.com, and you will walk away with knowledge you could not even get in business school! I wish I had read this three years ago when I first started my product line development. Thanks Tamara for sharing so freely and so generously to save the rest of us time and money!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book Delivers, October 10, 2005
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
I am not a mom so at first I was a little hesitant to buy this book - boy am I glad that I did! I was just looking for an overview on all the steps required in designing a product and getting it into the market place. Seldom, if ever have I been so satisfied that an author comes through with a book that is clear, concise, informative, thorough, full of information, resources and real life examples. I thought this book was WONDERFUL!

Tamara works her way though all the steps for bringing a product to market. As the title would suggest her target audience is female but as a male I also found that it was very informative. She presents examples from her own work as well as that of others helping to show how varied and simple products really can be.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Little, August 30, 2005
This review is from: The Mom Inventors Handbook: How to Turn Your Great Idea Into the Next Big Thing (Paperback)
I was greatly inspired & moved just from reading a few pages from this book. I honestly thanked God today for using people like Tamara Monosoff to reach people like me. My name is Marlena Martin of TX and I searched through countless bookstores for a book that could give me tips on how to go about with distribution, guideance & tips about starting an home based buisness. The moment I pulled this book off the shelf was one of the greatest & wisest desicions of my life. This book reads with ease, it actually gave me confidence & inspired to to go ahead & move forward with my idea. There's a line in this book that actually gave me chills. I cannot paraphase it but it basically said, if you create an idea with your mind, you are therefore an inventor. Never in a millions years have I seen myself as an inventor but at the precise moment, the wheels began spinning in my brain & though I do not feel like Albert Einstein, I do feel like a contributor to the scientific field. If you are an busy mom who "just like me" came up with a wonderful idea (invention) & would like to share your idea with the world. If you want to get started and learn what it's going to take. READ THIS BOOK, it will be money well worth spent. I value it and cannot imagine life without it. Much success to the author, thank you for inspiring busy mom's like me.
Best,

Thorough and very accessible, this book has it all for anyone who thinks they might have the "next big thing", or anyone just interested in what it takes to make, market and sell. Very informative, well written and organized. Great pictures, personal stories (this book is not at all "dry"), helpful hints, forms, schedules, etc. I really appreciate how this book lays it all out for you without ever making it feel overwhelming or too daunting a task. Thank you Tamara!

One of the scariest things is to have an idea and not knowing what to do with it. This book gives very sound advice on how to proceed with confidence. Highly recommend.
