"Mom, Do I look Fat??",
By
This review is from: Mom, do I look fat? (Paperback)
This book and this Doctor could be the answer to your loved one's problem!! We, unfortunately, could not get the help we desperately sought from the medical community in our area. Dr. W. P. Smedley M.D. F.A.C.S. is a GEM! He is highly respected in his community! Our daughter's health was deteriorating by the day and we felt the lame diagnosis of AN (Anorexia Nervosa) which was sometimes given (from a local area doctor we had never seen before and after a 15 minute visit no less!!!) was wrong. Thankfully, we found Dr. Smedley and have the picture PROOF that our daughter's problem was due to gallbladder disease and another rare genetic problem which Dr. Smedley found thru gallbladder surgery!
PLEASE, PLEASE, look closely at your loved ones eating habits, stomach pain, bloating, constipation BEFORE you listen to the Psychiatric evaluation of Anorexia Nervosa! After a person is told they have a "disorder" and "must hate themselves and don't want to live" they may retreat into themselves and not want to talk...wouldn't you? GET THE CCK-upright TEST DONE! (Note: Dr. Smedley will try to help you get the test done in your area) It could save your daughter (or loved one's) life. GET THE BOOK and call Dr. Smedley...he is REAL...it may seem strange that a board certified general surgeon would answer the phone and talk to you...but HE IS REAL! (and what doctors long ago USED to be!!!!) Contact us for more info on our experience. truthseek15@yahoo.com God Bless. Steve & Jackie Morris

Surgeon examines root causes of eating disorders,
By Randy Schellenberg, A.Sc.T. (Vernon, B.C. Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mom, do I look fat? (Paperback)
This book is the first to examine the underlying physical causes of eating disorders. Many parents, physicians and psychotherapists don't realize that for many individuals, the so-called "bizarre" behaviors of AN and BN may in fact be normal instinctive responses to common undiagnosed digestive tract disorders. This book offers hope to those who have suffered with these disorders and gives concrete solutions for a cure. Smedley deserves the Nobel Prize for this informative book.
