HE feels it in his gut!,
By
This review is from: Moment of Forever (Audio CD)
These ARE some of the best songs he's done since the 70's. I am surprised I have not heard any of them recorded by other artist. There are a few songs on this CD that make your eyes tear up. One thing I've noticed about music today is that there is no soul in it. Reguardless of the coincidence I have to mention Janis Joplin. She sang from her heart. You KNEW when she sang that she felt it in her gut. The same is true of Kristofferson. People can poo poo his singing voice all they want but I think his voice is what makes his music touch me. HE feels it in his gut! Thank you Kristofferson for sharing a bit of yourself with us. I wonder if we deserve it?

Kristofferson's best in years,
This review is from: Moment of Forever (Audio CD)
I have nearly every album Kristofferson ever recorded. I consider Moment of Forever one of the best, with a collection of wonderful songs. Catch the title track "Moment Of Forever," "Between Heaven And Here," and the rocker "Under The Gun." The last track "Sam's Song" is an ode to legendary film maker Sam Pekinpah and is a fun song to listen to. Kristofferson hits his stride again. What an artist, what a legend, what an album!

His Best Yet,
By
This review is from: Moment of Forever (Audio CD)
I bought this CD with some trepidation. He's older now (like me) and I was of the understanding that talent "dimmed" as you aged. Was I in for a surprise! This is truly his most beautful album yet. His new songs are magnificent. Somehow, and I don't understand it, this man's songs have touched every note in a life with its share of sadness and pain, and the desire to grow. Thank you Kris for a very beautiful album. And yes, I have bought the latest and can't wait to receive it and get it on the CD player!

Speaking as a diehard KK fan, I rate this as one of his best collections, definitely the best in recent years. His lyrics are tightly crafted, heart-felt and as always, right on target. His voice and delivery are quintesssential KK -- deep and sexy as hell. This is an album that makes you wish you could have been there is the recording studio. Sounds like it was one terrific party. The harmonies and "echo phrasing" on this album are terrific...especially the "Between Heaven and Here" track.

The thoughts and words are beautiful and memorable!!,
This review is from: Moment of Forever (Audio CD)
The title song is an appropriate beginning to a wonderful expression of love and poetry, particularly in THE PROMISE and NEW GAME NOW. Kris's voice may not be as strong as it once was,but as a fan who has most of his recordings, I can truly say that he has more heart than ever in his MOMENT OF FOREVER. I never tire of listening to the words of this gifted and sensitive artist. Each number in this collection will bring back some old memories and generate some new ones. My daughter and I had front row seats at one of his concerts many years ago. It was one of the best Mother's Day gifts I ever received. I hope that one day, Kris's valuable contributions to the music industry will be more widely recognized and rewarded.

My life in an album,

Why do I hear more of my life every time I hear a new KK album.? This is by far his best work in years and I had the pleasure Of seeing him on the tour in th UK to promote it in 95 or 96 . The title song is just a gem and makes cry whenever I play it. It is so good to hear him back at doing what he does best - drawing on a colorful life to remind us that it can be cruel as well as kind , sad as well as funny. Those of us who live in the UK and know London will appreciate Casey. Do not hesitate to buy it if you thought the art of singer songwriter was dead - it just came back to life.

A fine selection of songs which carry the theme of the CD. Purchased an extra copy for my grandson who was recently married this month, as the songs and their lyrics do tell a story for "companionship".

HE'S A POET, HE'S A PREACHER....,

The silver tongued devil....man i miss this album! Going to get me and my dad one, pronto. I remember ridin' along in the 'bago on our KOA trips to Florida from Texas in the seventies. Kris (Songs of Kris & Capricorn) etched the way along many a lonely road. I listened to this with my dad a few years ago and he wanted one then. Well, here it comes, pop. Don Was is THE premier dude for making people sound true. True to US, which is who matters. If you want to try other fantastic albums try all three Highwaymen (Kris, Johnny, Waylon, and Willie) offerings. Get this and get really, cooly mellow. Rock on, Kris.

Grows With Each Listen,
By
This review is from: Moment of Forever (Audio CD)
This is definitely Kris' best and most realized record since the early 1970s. The songwriting here is uniformly strong, with emotional ballads like "A Moment of Forever" mixed with story songs like "Johnny Lobo" mixed with old chestnuts like "Good Love Shouldn't Feel So Bad."
What I really like is Don Was and his very tasteful production. The instruments are brilliantly recorded, including mandolins, dobros, and other melodic instruments filling out the sound, along with a very active, harmonic bass. Kris' voice has not sounded this good in years, and his commitment and passion in each song is felt and resonates with every listen.
