Fine Piano Trio Music, June 24, 2003
Kenny Baron is one of the finest piano players in jazz today. He has played with many of the jazz giants and had a close relationship with Stan Getz particularly at the end of Getz's career. In this recording he teams up with Victor Lewis and Rufus Reid all of whom had played with Stan Getz including the "Anniversary" album. This CD is a fine representation of piano jazz trio music. It is an excellent recording and captures some real magical moments. Perhaps thats where the name came from. These guys play mostly standards mixed with a few of Kennys originals. Kenny displays his usual fine touch throughout this recording. This disc keeps finding its way on to the player.
