Ten percent of the books I have reviewed here at Amazon make it into my six star group. This is such a book. I have been a fan of Lee Camp's outrageously spirited, funny, and profane social commentaries for years, through his videos. This book was given to me as a gift, and I have been laughing all morning with occasional tears of sadness for society.

Amazon's Look Inside the Book provides the Table of Contents, look at that if you have any doubt.

HUGE PLUS: Each short chapter has the YouTube URL at the top. Amazon also sells two audios for Lee, great for the car, but personally I value the combination of Lee's face and live delivery with his words, for now found only on YouTube.

The subtitle says it all: Lee is a stark raving sane man. Others have compared him to Carlin, I would go a step further, Lee is Carlin with class (smile). He's like a giant-sized Irish elf armed with an intelligence flame thrower capable of skewering any lie, any pretense, any crime against humanity -- his book covers most of them.

I would certainly like to see a Lee Camp: The Movie but until that comes available, this book is a sane person's salvation. We who are sane are labeled crazy by the 1% and the sheep that listen to the 1%, this book is life-affirming, mind-altering, soul-strengthening righteous good stuff.

God Bless Lee, God Bless America, and as Winston Churchill once said, NEVER GIVE UP.

Radical idea: buy as many of these books as you can, and either put the books in toilets where the willing might still be saved, or cut the spine off and sprinkle Lee's individual stories around. This book is pixie dust for humanity.

Lee Camp is one of the sharpest minds working in comedy today. His Moment of Clarity videos have brought laughter and insight to my desktop on a regular basis for quite a while now and I am thrilled -- THRILLED, I say -- to learn that the texts are now going to be available in book form. His switchblade wit cuts through the cultural obfuscations, the mass-media haze, the overworked talking points and reveals the world in the naked, simple terms in which he sees it. Lee is not a comic who goes for the joke regardless of its implications. Lee is a visionary artist who uses the darker shades of comedy as his palette. Buy this book. Subscribe to his youtube channel. This young man's mind, bright and dark, will bring your whole world into stark relief and make you laugh while it happens.

If you are like me, you look for certain individuals in the world of comedy who stand as a beacon of humor in a very cynical time. In the legacy of Lenny Bruce, George Carlin and Bill Hicks; Lee Camp continues that proud legacy as a man who through clarity of reason, finds the humor that comes with a world that teeters on the precipice of insanity or at the very least, uncomfortably stupid.

Lee is more then a comedian, he is an observer and commentator, an activist and antagonist (google Lee Camp + Fox News). His weapon is humor to often slice through a political and media landscape obfuscated by half truths and special interest. These words in this review only scratches the surface. Lee has a brilliant future ahead of him, if you're a fan now, then you will be happy to see how his career evolves. He is the anti- Dane Cook and on that basis alone you should buy this book.

Smart, bold, funny.
Five Stars. Hands down.

I first came to know of comedian/political satirist Lee Camp last year while listening to Jay Tomlinson's Best of the Left podcast. BotL is a collection of various clips of political talk shows, podcasts and other observers on the progressive side of the political aisle, and I've discovered several good progressive shows and people through that podcast including Camp, Jim Hightower and David Pakman.

I always liked Camp because not only was he being very funny, but also he was taking on the serious political issues of the day while giving those that are involved in the issues (Politicians, talk show hosts, etc) the proper amount of sarcasm and derision with a healthy dose of profanity throughout, while also providing a clean safe-ish for work edition as well.

Listening to Lee over the last six or seven months or so and watching his youtube videos in his "Moment of Clarity" series I've been struck by how well he's able to put things into context. By drawing analogies to things that we all can relate to, by bringing some complex issues dealing with the various political machinations and economic policies and even the environment, as well as LGBT issues into the realm of comprehension for everyone, no matter how politically savvy you may be.

There are some of them that are laugh out loud funny, and there are those which are dead serious subjects, but he's able to inject a sort of humor to it that falls into the category of "laugh to keep from crying". Things that we see in society that just makes us weep for the future. Things that make us angry. I mean Howard Beale angry.
