4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable romantic suspense
Kate Logan has branched off into her own practice as a criminal attorney after the notoriety of proving her own father-in-law a murderer. It was harder than she thought however, as the press she received hasn't at all helped her practice. 3.0 out of 5 stars OK read but some parts ridiculous
I read it to the end and I did enjoy it. Although, I thought several parts were really foolish and just highly unlikely. It just seemed they would throw some love and sex in there to keep it interesting (but really out of place). The ending? PLEASE - I don't think so. They just went to far over the edge with that one. And the gorgeous cop that just happened to make...

4.0 out of 5 stars An enjoyable romantic suspense, March 17, 2003
This review is from: Moment Of Truth (Mass Market Paperback)
Kate Logan has branched off into her own practice as a criminal attorney after the notoriety of proving her own father-in-law a murderer. It was harder than she thought however, as the press she received hasn't at all helped her practice. That all changes when she gets a call from the finance of an accused murderer who fled the country two years before. She is dying to take the case, not only for the money, but she honestly believes the man is innocent. Kate is torn, for the murder victim was the sister of the man she has fallen in love with.

Mitch Calhoon is a cop for the Metro PD. He's always believed in justice and in his opinion, Todd Buchannan needs to be brought to justice for the murder of his sister. Then he gets priceless advice which makes him realize that he's thinking as a brother, not a cop. So he decides to help Kate unravel the mystery behind the night of his sisters murder.

Moment of Truth is a suspense that will keep you guessing almost until the end. Heggan drops clues about who the real killer is, which aren't hard to pick up and piece together. It was a very satisfying and enjoyable read!

5.0 out of 5 stars This author gets better and better!, January 3, 2002
By
This review is from: Moment Of Truth (Mass Market Paperback)
Molly Buchanan met her lovers in chat rooms on the internet. She met Black Knight in one of the more dirty ones. However, upon meeting in a roadside hotel room, Molly recognized who Black Knight really was and planned to tell the papers. She never left the hotel alive. Two years later...

Kate Logan was a criminal lawyer in Washington, D.C. She was approached by Jessica VanDyke with a desperate plea to help her fiancé, Todd Buchanan. Molly had been his wife. When the police had gone to arrest Todd, he had already fled the country. Now he was ready to clear his name and wanted Kate to represent him. Todd and Jessica stayed hidden overseas. Kate went to work.

Kate was torn at first since Molly had been the sister of her current boyfriend, Mitch Calhoon. At the same time, Kate's ex-husband was trying to make her believe she could not take care of their thirteen year old daughter. Lastly, Molly's real murderer was still at large. And the killer had decided to stop Kate's snooping!

***** Christiane Heggan gets better with every book she writes! If anyone should ever wonder why Heggan hits the best selling list often, all they must do is read one of her books to understand. This one is a great example. The heroine, Kate, is strong, tenacious, caring, and intelligent. The author succeeds in creating a character that is very realistic and adds many twists to keep readers guessing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! *****

5.0 out of 5 stars exciting legal thriller, December 21, 2001
This review is from: Moment Of Truth (Mass Market Paperback)
Following a successful family court case, attorney Kate Logan is accosted by a desperate Jessica Van Dyke. The police believe Jessica's fiancé Todd Buchanan killed his wife Molly two years ago in a Northern Virginia motel. Refusing to hang around and be arrested, Todd fled.

Having seen Kate on a CNN interview, Todd is willing to surrender to law enforcement officials if Kate defends him in court. Though she desperately needs the money, Kate worries about a conflict of interest, as the victim was the sister of her boyfriend Mitch Calhoon. Learning a bit more about the case, Kate decides an innocent man has lost two years of his life while the guilty party remains free. She accepts the case unaware of the danger her decision brings to her from an unknown assailant who prefers the status quo.

MOMENT OF TRUTH is an exciting legal thriller with strong doses of romantic suspense elements cleverly intertwined into the plot. The story line is loaded with action that mostly focuses on the idealistic Kate trying to balance the need to make a living with the needs of her clients. The secondary characters such as her daughter and her boyfriend enable the audience to understand Kate and her motives. As with another Kate starring vehicle, SUSPICION, Christiane Heggan provides fans with an entertaining tale that never slows down but also never skimps on the cast. Hopefully readers Ms. Heggan will provide legal thriller and romantic suspense readers with another Logan's run.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read Suspicion First, April 30, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Moment Of Truth (Mass Market Paperback)
This book has the same two characters as Suspicion, Kate Logan and Mitch Calhoon. I would recommend reading that one first. Kate Logan an attorney is asked to represent Todd Buchanan, a man being sought for the death of his wife Molly. The problem with this is that Molly was the sister of Mitch, Kate's boyfriend. It all started with two people agreeing to meet in person after they first meet in an internet chat room.

2.0 out of 5 stars Below Average., May 13, 2003

Have to wonder whether these reviews ("keeps getting better") are on the level. Overlong and most trifling of whodunits. Not romantic, not racy, no courtroom, no surprises, Juvenile reading level.

4.0 out of 5 stars book, June 29, 2009

Really liked her books. Was a new author for me.
Had loved the Mary Higgins Clark books and these remind me a little of her books just a tad more racy in parts. Still a good read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Action Packed, September 9, 2005
This review is from: Moment Of Truth (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first book that I read by Christiane Heggan and I was very impressed. It was well written and there was never a dull moment. I found the plot to have many twists and turns which were not predictable. Enjoyable reading from the beginning to the end. I would love to read more from this author.
