Cadence Carter is a successful young artist who just purchased her first home. She is thrilled to have a place to call home, but needs someone to finish the remaining projects left by the previous owner. At a neighborhood party, she meets Adam Jackson, a construction worker who agrees to complete the projects for her.

Adam Jackson has had his share of heartache and betrayal. After ending a ten year marriage to his high school sweetheart, he vows that he will not let another woman deceive him. The day he arrives at Cadence's home to complete the renovations, he misreads an exchange she has with a hired model. Instantly, he assumes the worse and thinks she is a call girl. Nonetheless, Adam finds himself attracted to Cadence and before the night is over, they are both caught up in uncontrollable passion that leaves them both speechless.

Although Adam is attracted to Cadence, he feels she is playing games and he refuses to get caught up in the sizzling passion developing between them. Cadence doesn't understand what causes Adam to go from hot to cold, but she refuses to let him or any man control her. While growing up, Cadence watched her mother and sister cater to demanding and unappreciative men and she decided that independence is the only route to happiness. Can Cadence and Adam let down their guards and take a chance at love? Or will danger lurking in the shadows prevent them from exploring their feelings?

As a fan of Sophia Shaw's work, I am pleased with her latest addition. MOMENT OF TRUTH is a well-developed story that offers steamy loves scenes with a twist of suspense.
