This book provides a wide variety of vignettes In El Salvador's tumultuous history which provides readers with pieces of the puzzle that is the small Central American nation. Most of the moments recall the hardships of the country's bloody civil war, some even relfecting on the role the US government played in this sad, inhumane time. All in all, the book does a splendid job of enlightening the stranger to El Salvador of what lies ahead.
