Book Description

September 1, 2009
Is it possible that one moment, one brief encounter, can change the course of the rest of your life? If so, how will you recognize that moment? Will you let it pass you by? Will you let it defeat you? Or will you allow that moment, that experience, to help shape who you are and who you might become?

"Moments of Being" reveals true stories that altered lives forever. Join celebrities, athletes, business and community leaders and men and women from all walks of life as they share their amazing 'twist of fate' experiences. These are stories of courage, destiny, reunions, love, sacrifice, dreams and the fears and triumphs which are an integral part of the human experience. More than that, they illustrate that by recognizing and acting on a single, pivotal moment, a person can change his or her life forever.

More About the Author

About Barrie Brett

Barrie Brett is an Emmy Award-winning television producer/writer. She has produced a variety of projects - from commercials to features, magazine & talk shows, celebrity interviews, news and PBS documentaries. As executive producer, she helped develop lifestyle programming for national syndication ranging from relationship and parenting to gardening, exercise, living better, design and cooking shows - including The Main Ingredient with Bobby Flay, Rebecca's Garden, Way To Grow, Late Date With Sari and Living Better With Carrie Wiatt. A former teacher, she has also produced educational shows and videos as well as corporate programs and training tapes.

Barrie has an ongoing fascination with the ability of moments to transform lives. This is her first book. A series of three events occurring in one week initially inspired the idea for this book. After that, I became fascinated with stories involving pivotal, transforming moments. I wanted to see whether there was a pattern or reason for those "moments in time." I recognized that sometimes by just being aware of these moments, you can help change your life forever.

You never know when one of these moments could become your Moment of Being!

I hope readers will share their reactions and their own stories with me!

This review is from: Moments of Being: Finding Your One Moment in Time (Paperback)

I surprised myself by enjoying "Moments of Being" as much as I did. The stories are not only moving but have a resounding pertinence to the average person's daily life. The book reminds us that we are all presented with "moments" that can turn our lives around for the better and that recognizing these opportunities is within all our capabilities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this book!, August 31, 2009
This review is from: Moments of Being: Finding Your One Moment in Time (Paperback)
I loved this book! Moments of Being looks into the lives of such a diverse group of people ranging from well know celebrities to folks like me. I gained an appreciation of how people and situations present themselves in our lives and we don't always realize when an opportunity for change presents itself? I think after reading "Moments" I'm now more sensitized and hopefully, will be more situationally aware to respond differently in the future. I think it would make a great gift for any high school or college graduate in addition to adults of any age!
